Question about the Elven Shield. It gives an SP bonus to all elves in the party so long as it's active. Does this include half elves?

I would say it does, if the player has been a half-elf from the beginning, and not suddenly and miraculously finding out about his elven heritage after acquiring such an item.

You didn't know it, but I had been playing Pretzel as a half-elf since the beginning, just I (completely unsuspiciously) didn't tell anyone.

Humans don't live as long as pretzel says he has. So either he's lying about his age or he's not human. Or at least not wholly human. So it's plausible.

The question is, if he's half elf, what's the other half?

Dwarf. It'd explain the beard and gruff exterior.

I could be full elf and it's a fake beard. :innocent:

Isn't Pretzel's race called a "hermit"? I don't know how that separates him from a normal human, but it sure does not make him half-elven.

Or perhaps Monk Pretzel is just a parasitic beard on the body of an older man.

Head canon that Pretzel is a sentient ageless parasitic hermit crab covered by a beard and posessing the body of a half-elf that died of old age.

More an observation than a question, since I am the first to run a level one quest since the new ether changes have been put in place. But the one ether per enemy/party member effected shield is brutal on low level mages and clerics. If I had remembered that change my two mages would have been out of ether in the first round.

Yes, I am aware of that. That's why the low-level mages and clerics need to preserve ether and rest often.

I'm not sure if I quite agree with that. Clerics have often found themselves in situations where it was more advisable to rely on potions for their certain healing, than the healing of a cleric. :sceptic:

But I'm no longer a cleric, so what do I know?

That's the tradeoff: potions are guaranteed, but limited, while healing might not work, but its more potent and you can do it as long as you have ether.

And it's really important to remember that after this change, targets with full health are not healed, and thus do not consume ether.

Or a combination. 1 hosted quest = 3 participated quests.

I thought that was discussed, but never official. :look: It doesn't say so in the rules

Nope, that is not how it works.
