eldiano Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 (edited) Hi guys,I have a couple of Ikea Display cabinets where I display my Super Heroes Set, usually I displayed my lego sets on the guest bed, but stored them after a month. I noticed that my castle from the kingdoms had black marks on the bricks, but I realized it came from the smoke of the candle my wife lit up next to it so it wiped off easily. Now I have my sets inside a cabinet, where the only thing that gets in is dust and it's hidden away from sunlight, so when I decided to take out the malibu mansion and the white house sets I realized that they were the same black marks on some bricks, but this time I couldn't wipe them off. I had them displayed for less than weeks and this is happening, anyone know what is the cause of this? Here's how I have them, I don't turn on the cabinet lights at all, just for this time: How I have them: Don't know if you can see the black streak on the curved tile The round dark bluish gray is full of black streaks around that work station, it's crazy If you look at the wall pieces you can totally see the stuff I am talking about it, I am scared and don't know what to do. One of the downsides of storing stuff at the bottom of the cabinet I guess, it acquires pieces of hair fly around in the air, I am never living in a house that has carpet ever! If this problem is been going on with the white pieces, I can't fathom what would happen with the rest of the colors... Any help on how to mitigate this issue would be great, I don't know where this is coming from and as you can see I try to keep them away from dirt/dust/and grime but I guess they are a magnet... Brickus Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 I use a handheld vacuum cleaner with a brush specifically for my displayed LEGO, and works really well. Quote
eldiano Posted June 29, 2013 Author Posted June 29, 2013 it's like a smoke/dark black stain on my lighter colored Lego that is hard to get off, it's not a dust problem, just that it's staining my bricks. Quote
