Hinckley Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 DaVinciPunk!, our group layout for Brickworld this year, was Steampunk based but I prefer to keep the architecture stuff in the Town Forum. The concept was that the city of Vetruvia was populated with mechanical, gear-powered buildings. The pistons on the roof go up and down. The building behind is the Marketplace, which I'll post in a separate topic. Here's a quick video of the Power Functions pistons moving. Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Wonderful building design and AWESOME mechanical genius too.......Brick On 'Hinckley' ! Quote
Canticleer blues Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 (edited) Brilliant! The model is fairly clean and simplistic in its overall look, yet the abundance of details make it a pleasure to look at. The 'wheel fenders in arches' technique as well as the use of the 2x2 box for the column bases (and the simplicity of that ledge technique) stand out as particularly clever, and the stained glass is a nice touch. Excellent work Hinckley! I only wish I'd been there to witness the model and its spinny moving pistons in person. Edited June 24, 2013 by Canticleer blues Quote
eurotrash Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 It looks like a very imposing structure. I really like the stained glass, the footers to the columns and the facade. And it MOVES! I'm tempted to introduce mechanicals to my MOCs, but there's no way they'd look half as impressive as the creations in the Da Vinci Punk. Thank you for sharing it with us! Quote
The Jersey Brick Guy Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I am in love with the stained glass! Can you please post a close up picture of it? Quote
The Player Nº1 Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 So many details and also mechanics! Congrats! Quote
