41301 STRINGER

Defeat the brains that control the rookie!

Attention STRINGER: The evil brains have made a beast out of Rookie Nex and must be stopped! We’ve equipped you with dual shock-blades, a sleek jetpack, an opening armored visor and hero core locking clamps. Now fly to the threat and fix your friend!

• Features dual shock-blades, a sleek jetpack, opening armored visor, hero core with locking clamps, poseable joints and translucent elements

• Take back Titan Nex's mind!

• Lock the clamps to protect your hero core from the same corruption!

• Wear fellow hero Rocka's leftover helmet!

• Battle with 41300 TITAN NEX

• Combine with 41300 TITAN NEX to create a powerful brain-annihilating super-hero!

My own explanation as to why Nex and Stringer where not included in the Brain Attack series; that Nex was mutated by a brain early in the invasion and Stringer was deployed to take care of the threat.

I created this with the intention of it being an unofficial set and I didn't want to use more advanced skeletons and complicated builds- just a similar hero to the ones already released.

I'd say that his gear is somewhat inspired by Shingeki no Kyojin. Just a teeeeensy bit.

Here's some (slightly) higher-res pictures: Head, Front, Back, Pack

A view of my LDD-MOC:

A view of his Jetpack:

A view of the technic pack beneath. I just love dense technic on a Hero, there's something about it that feels vaguely robotic:

I haven't really used LDD much recently either, so Constructive Criticism would be very appreciated![ ]

Great work! I love the color scheme! Great that you included his original orange coloring. Something tat just occurred to me, why are they protecting their cores from MIND controlling parasites?

I've always though they did it because of the threat of Core Hunter previously. :def_shrug:

It's because their cores basically contain their minds - or at least most of it. Anyway, I like this, but it would look better if it had more color in the build, not just black and that strange tr. color. Also, some sort of sonic weapon like Stringer had before would work well.

Realistically the locking clamps are just for giggles. They don't really protect anything any more than the visors do, it's just part of the overall feature set.

Anyhow, I'm a sucker for reverse grip blades, so you've sold me on those, though it would be interesting to see how that could come together in an actual set. Since that appears to be your goal in mind for building this, you've done a good job; the building isn't too complex (the back might be a little, but the function itself is super simple), and the color scheme is consistent with a bit of random thrown in there (they do like their arbitrary trans shoulder panels, don't they?). The bulbs overall are probably my least favorite bit, especially with a close up on the head, they look out of place.

I took inspiration from the other sets- simple melee weapons. That's Trans Purple by the way, it's not used very much. I thought it'd be great to give him a trans color other than green or blue to help him stand out and purple seems to go well with black. Speaking of colors, he was entirely black and trans purple until I decided to make my two entries connected and I had to throw some orange in there, he was originally made with a ninja vibe.

Blame the most recent Bulk for the shoulder panel. I put the bulbs in to seem like lights, the black surfaces there looked a bit too flat to me.
