marvinblue Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Hi all! I'm turning the bank that comes with Batman and Two-Face chase into a Jewellery store, as I already have the City Bank set and don't need another one! Trouble is, I don't know of many valuables that Lego have produced in sets. I also have the City Museum across the road, so that rules out the gold dish, chunk of gold and the jewel in the case, (although I'm going to have a different coloured stone in my Jewellery store). I also have the little gold statues from the collectable series, but they remind me more of Oscar statues than something you'd find in a Jewellery store. So, what does that leave me with? Any thoughts out there? Also, would sort of stickers would be good for the two front windows? I have the stickers from the original set, but they are designed for a bank more than a valuables store. jonwil Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 This piece http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3009pb054 would make a good sign (if you have one or can get one from Bricklink or elsewhere) Quote
meschepers Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 You can get multiples of the ring from the LOTR sets. Quote
cimddwc Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Well, I allowed my jeweler's shop to also sell some more kitschy stuff, so I could use the golden scorpion and trident, for instance; even if you don't want that, your shop might still sell trophies, so you can use the "Oscar" and goblets. Then I also put grille tiles vertically which is supposed to look like multiple necklaces: jeweler's shop 1 by cimddwc, on Flickr And several 1x1 round plates, some with transparent plates above, that may be rings or other jewellery. (This was before the LOTR rings were available.) Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 You're forgetting the LOTR ring (as already mentioned), and the crystals. Also gold, silver, clear transparent, transparent red or transparent blue 1 x 1 round plates. See the Color Guide on Bricklink for more gold or silver elements. There's no reason you can't have jewels in both the museum and the store, because one only displays them, while the other sells them. Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 May I suggest building a Bevilles Jewellery store which sell fancy homewares as well as jewellery and watches. Now if you don't the tiger might ! Brick On 'marvinblue' ! Quote
coffeeandcake Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 (edited) you could also use those medals that came with the CMF series 7 swimmer or team GB figs and the series 7 bride's tiara Edited June 20, 2013 by coffeeandcake Quote
-Carson Haupt- Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Or a golden crown, if you want. The Lotr rings are a good idea. You could maybe use some of the gold coins or have a workshop with the gold bars. Quote
marvinblue Posted June 21, 2013 Author Posted June 21, 2013 Fantastic suggestions from all!! Thankyou!!! LOTR rings and the tiara; why didn't I think of that!! (Starting to scheme on Bricklink!!) Thanks again! Quote
sgeureka Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 (edited) You could place some jewels vertically to the side of a building as a "sign". Good jewelly stuff are also the normal gold coins, the gold+silver bars from the Lone Ranger theme, and (for the building or the counter) the gold bricks from Christmas set 853345. The Trendsetter from CMF Series 10 is the perfect seller or customer for a jewellery store, I believe. Here's a picture that I took to symbolize wealth, maybe it gives you good ideas for your store: 10_P1180009 by sgeureka, on Flickr Edited June 21, 2013 by sgeureka Quote
fhomess Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 If you're really opposed to having the same things in the museum and the jewelry store, you might consider changing what's in the museum. Museums house all sorts of artifacts, and some of the historical themes would be a great source of items with which to populate the museum instead of leaving it as is. Or you could turn it into an art museum populated with additional artwork and brick built sculptures. Quote

Venunder Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 There are also gold fish statues from various sets. Including http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=7985-1 Quote
Bricknblue Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 For sure get a small LotR set so you get two rings right there. Anything gold color I would have, even a golden cane could fit into a jewellery store. (Funny when you are in the main forum area before clicking on Town it says "Looking for help with a Jew...".) Quote
