P robo Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Ive looked at many posts but cant find what im after. Im wondering what the best motor is used to power the real wheels. Either an xl motor or an l motor. Or is it best to use 2. If so whats the best way to to run them with 1 differential. Also whats the best way for steering either a servo motor or an m motor with return to centre. Will I have to use return to centre with the servo motor Thanks for your help Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 I would use a servo for steering. For drive, the required motor depends on what the weight of the car is and how fast you want the car to move. A S motor should be used if your car is very small and you want it to move reasonably quickly. A L motor should be used if your car is a bit more heavy. The fasted lego motor is a buggy motor. Quote

Sariel Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 A S motor should be used if your car is very small and you want it to move reasonably quickly. There is no S motor, you probably meant M. M motors are surprisingly strong and can work well in medium models too, for example in tandems. Quote
N-4K0 Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 A bit off-topic, but how many motors are there? M, L and XL are those I've seen mentioned. Quote
