How does Nathan Sawaya Build LEGOs?

I am a big fan of Nathan Sawaya's works. How does he build it? Does he use a 3D printer or he builds it by hand?

He uses genuine LEGO elements assembled by hand.

I imagine him standing on a towering gold plated platform overseeing a valley of canvas tents with smoky fire pits and livestock. Shouting out commands to his thousands of minions, as they assemble his master pieces. "I need more bricks!"

Wow never knew he uses his hands to create them! btw, i heard he is having an exhibit in Israel soon! Anyone in here is going? -

Do they actually get left made, or are the bricks recycled into other things once a model has been made and displayed?

Interesting read. I've never heard of him before, so it was all new. He seems like a good sport talking about his ego and whatnot.
