Originally, he was one of the gnome tinkerers that helped develop the portals inside of the Black Lance Guildhouse. Later, he found himself being asked to join for his ingenuity. Though he may be small in stature, Chopinski is a skilled crossbowman and he also helps craft all sorts of tools for guild members. He is also quite a skilled lock picker and an inventor. He is generally aligned as Chaotic Neutral, When a quest needs interesting tools or a small marksman, he's the guy to take.
