Minifig Lecturer Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 What do people call the name for the "pieces" that hold coins, flower petals and lights together when you buy a new box of lego. Some people might call them useless pieces but I find they are good for products, fish and similar things but do they have a recognised name? Another similar piece is the rings used to hold plums from the Castle and Pirate themes. Quote
xenologer Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 in the model kit building hobby, I believe it is called the 'sprue' dunno if theres an official lego term for it tho Quote
Starwars4J Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Not sure about an official name, but like you I always keep the ones that hold the coins together. It still looks like currency to me ;-) Quote
Sir Dillon Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Not sure about an official name, but like you I always keep the ones that hold the coins together. It still looks like currency to me ;-) Same here. I don't tend to keep the ones that hold other pieces together, though. Mostly because I can't find any uses for them, and don't really have a place to put them. It really depends, though... Quote
Optimax X Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 I just call of my collection "bricks" ;-) It makes life a whole lot earlier IMO Quote
hewkii9 Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Bricklink lists whole collections [like 2 silver knives together] as being on a sprue. Quote
Minifig Lecturer Posted February 22, 2007 Author Posted February 22, 2007 Not sure about an official name, but like you I always keep the ones that hold the coins together. It still looks like currency to me ;-) Well I keep every piece that comes with a LEGO set as I always find uses for them. The shiney ones that hold coins together I used to use as Quote
captaintau Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Okay, spruce it is for the time-being anyway. Thanks *y* No, "sprue", not "spruce". A spruce is a tree. A tree capable of inflicting damage is a Spruce Lee! Quote
