Nightstalker Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 (edited) Now, if you've made it to Tip #3 I can assume that you haven't died as an adventurer. Of course, you could be an undead reading this in the case of some fallen adventurers who have gained a second chance, which if you are, I apologize for my rather crude remark. Anyways, as I stated earlier, lets move on to Tip #3 First off, let me introduce to you... Jotham son of Valtharn, brother of Yuri, cousin of Bilborn, roommate of Kelkorn, the 16th cousin 26 times removed of Solven the Giant Slayer! Whew, that was a mouthful to say. Anyways, he had a line of err... greatest to live up to. Anyways, here's what you need to know about him before I continue. Jotham is really strong, you can see his muscles clearly. He loved to kill things, as a matter of fact, he would rather take a room for the night and food as a reward rather than money, simply because he enjoyed slaying monsters. He wanted to make a name for himself so he sought to become an Orc Butcher. On about his 4th quest, he faced off against two orcs and came out victorious. Having killed the two, the villagers were delighted, but they knew the orcs would return with more from their camp. So the chieftain devised a plan to get rid of them involving a large raid by the villagers. Right about now, I need to tell you that Jotham doesn't play well with others. He refused their help claiming he could do it himself. Here's where Tip #3 begins... This is a band of angry orcs and trolls, more importantly... That is a Troll Giant behind Jotham, and contrary to most people's belief, the big guy is actually quite fast. You see, Jotham ignored the skulls of fallen warriors on the way to the camp, hoping to slay many like his ancestors did. However, He bit off more than he could chew. Speaking of chewing, the band of trolls and orcs gathered his remains and made Jotham Jambalaya. As for the villagers, well they eventually raided the place only to find Jotham's armor (or lack there of). If only I had written this book would he have known: Tip #3 - The weakest of foes are always dangerous in great numbers. Never take on large groups of people by yourself. Doing so will always leave to a very uncomfortable, painful, gory, and humiliating death. Sad story indeed. Oh well! If you're reading this at least take comfort that you aren't him! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stay tuned for HNGK: A Guide for New Adventurers Tip #4 Hoped you enjoyed this short tale As usual Decals by Saber-Scorpion C&C is welcome and appreciated!!!
