Ghost Digger

008.jpg

I created this monster truck from instruction provided by kub0slaw. There is a picture link down below to his brickshelf where instructions are at and the his video as well. I want to tell you that his monster truck inspired me to finish the XL motor upgrade. Then when upon completing the first XL motor upgrade and by being able to test the RPM of my two motor that is when I discovered that my two motor ran at different RPM and I started doing all the motor magnet test video, uncovering how two motor of the same design are able to spin at two very different rpm. Now all that is done and been figure out. I can finally show you the incredible power and speed of the upgraded XL motor. I made a quick teaser video showing this. I plan on making a better video in the future.

What a little beast! Awesome. Different way of placing the XLs.

I think its a touch top heavy tho. :sweet: But certainly has style!

Good job.

Thanks Doc! I am using the 8881 battery box which is creating the very high center of gravity. The way kub0slaw made his Monster truck was not really for the 8881 studless battery box... He made the monster truck around the 8878 brick battery box and sits as low as it can go. The 8881 studless battery box in the design had to be raised a vertical stud making the body design go up two studs. So yea it is very top heavy. I like it though... I already done a end over end roll over going down a couple of step

It is very jerky, and IMO the body is very tall..

Thanks Someonenamedjon! You are certainly right about it begin very tall and very jerky. I had to raise the body up two studs so the 8881 battery box could fit and the servo motor definitely wants to make the body frame jerk to the left or right when trying to turn.

Thanks GDomino! I've been slowly working on the obstacle course and it is still a WIP. Once I remove this pile of bark I will be able expand the course out and add more obstacles. I also plan to do a comparison video in the future comparing the XL motor to the motor upgrade. I have many ideas on how to do this, but first here is a visual comparison of the brushes that are used in the motors.
