Hinckley Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Hey there. Any good resources out there for Technic gear configuration. I did a google search and got some basics...and some stuff I couldn't comprehend. I check the Index for this forum but the technipedia seems to be forbidden to me for some reason. Are there any good gear setup tutorials on our very own Eurobricks? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks. Quote

Alasdair Ryan Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 (edited) Hello Hinckley, you could try Sariel's gear calculator. That will give you a final ratio to work with as well as telling you the torque, you can also add a motor to work out motorized outputs (they are different to non-motorized setups because there is gearing in most of the Lego motors). You could also try Sariel's gear tutorial as well. That will give you a basic guide and some basic information on gearing, backlash, torque etc... Maybe you could tell us what you plan to use gears for? Edited May 25, 2013 by Alasdair Ryan Quote

I emailed blakbird, and he said"I ran out of bandwidth for the month. Someone on a car blog used one of my animations in their blog and it used up 10 Gb of bandwidth in 1 hour before I could stop them, so now my site is down until next month." Go to Sariel's site www.sariel.pl, and look at his gear tutorial. Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I don't have much more to add than what others have said, but I did want to say welcome to the Technic forum! Quote
