gevans12 Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Hi guys I've been floating around on this forum for a while now, picked up some good ideas for my 'Mog' off a number of people and have been very impressed by the likes of Effeman, Alaistair Ryan, Blackbird and many others. Now I recently acquired a second hand 8063 and it's awesome, however I do have one question...what's the gearbox in it for? No matter which way it's selected the differential in the rear wheels still operates the fake engine and seems to have no other visible function....is it me or am I missing something with if? Also, I'm on the hunt for some 1x5x11 panel plates to make a tipper bed for my 8292 cherry picker B model...anyone able to give me some reasonably priced and reliable bricklink suppliers? I have recently been buying parts from eBay, The Daily Brick and Brickbrower.co.uk... Any help would be awesome, thanks Gareth Ps keep on building you guys are awesome! Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 (edited) Welcome to the forum Gevans12, Yes I also admire that Alasdair Ryan fellow. Now back to your problems,I do not own the 8063 but I would hazard a guess that it operates the PTO? Bricklink is your best bet, sort them via the lowest price and the region were the shop is located. Blakbird Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 If you read my review of 8063 here, you'll find out all about the uselessness of that gearbox. Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Welcome! As Alasdair Ryan mentioned, the red lever engages the PTO on the back of the tractor. However, as Blakbird mentioned, this feature is useless on this model. There is nothing in the set that connects to the PTO. The tractor is nearly identical to the 8284 tractor, just a different color. The 8284 tractor uses the PTO to engage/disengage the mower blades. As far as the panels go, bricklink is probably your best bet. Sorry, I'm not familiar with the UK bricklink stores, and I won't be able to recommend any. Again, welcome! Quote
gevans12 Posted May 23, 2013 Author Posted May 23, 2013 Gents thanks very much :) To Alasdair, apologies for spelling your name wrong :) Thank you blackbird I shall indeed... Any good modifications that can be done to it that you would recommend? Dhc, many thanks :) Quote
