Alternator Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 (edited) Thanks for the links Heh - I just finished building my new X-Wing the other day - Lego love that model: - last year we had the mini X-Wing with planet, and the standard sized X-Wing - This year we get a UCS X-Wing, and this times-square X-Wing (assuming it really is an X-Wing which it is shaping up to be). Bob De Quatre Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 (assuming it really is an X-Wing which it is shaping up to be). I think we can assume it They used dishes on the lasers Quote
DanSto Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 It's just the 9493 model at a larger scale (human scale maybe). Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 By the looks of it, it's a public display which will allow everyone to sit in the cockpit.....I wonder if it will be part of a roadshow eh ? Quote
BobaCon Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 (edited) Looks like ToyArk has a few new pics up. http://news.toyark.c...es-square-87791 Edited May 23, 2013 by BobaCon Quote
shaggysanchez Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Gizmodo got an exclusive look at the model and has some great pics, videos, and info about it. http://gizmodo.com/this-incredible-full-scale-lego-x-wing-is-the-largest-m-509484787 Quote
StoutFiles Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 While this is awesome, I'm disappointed because I thought we might be getting the largest ever set to purchase. Quote
hiroki Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Is the reveal just the X-Wing or are we expecting a set? Quote

jamie75 Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I did a LDD model of the Yoda set releaed last week, I may as well make for this too! J/K Cool model, would have been nice to be there and see it in person. Jamie Quote

commdr_neyo Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I just read about the NYC LEGO The Yoda Cronicles event, and saw this photo http://www.flickr.com/photos/hothbricks/8802340722/ It appears to be a model containing 5,335,200 bricks, and soon after, I found out it's a life-size X-Wing! TheLegoDr Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 That is really impressive and neat to see in real life. But I also thought they were going to reveal a new set. Maybe they still will. But for the many people who are nowhere near this thing, it'd be cool to sit in it. Would it house a 6'4" person? I think they should rebuild it. Quote
Alternator Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Ok, someone who is in the area - try to get around the back of that thing and give that gear a crank Quote
BrickG Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 We need a LIFESIZE Lego Millennium Falcon now. :) Quote
CM4Sci Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Wow, that's kind of... disappointing. Expected something different. -Sci Quote
Chills Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I was also hoping for the largest "set" ever. But this is quite awesome! I hope it travels, I'd love to see it in person. Quote
vynsane Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 I neglected to post pics here! Yoda Chronicles build by vynsane, on Flickr Untitled by vynsane, on Flickr Untitled by vynsane, on Flickr Lots more shots in the "Yoda Chronicles Times Square Event" set on Flickr... Quote
Rook Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 (edited) Ok Lego time to build a Death Star play set. Using this same scale it would be pretty easy for a guided tour type attraction at say... Disneyland / Disney World! Edited May 24, 2013 by Rook Quote
Studebricker Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 We need a LIFESIZE Lego Millennium Falcon now. :) Not holding my breath on that one, but a matching TIE fighter would make for an interesting pair! Quote
1974 Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 LOL. The model is really terrible and appalling. Why? It's just 42x 9493, a design you said was interesting Could you design something better? Quote
