I noticed that Frame 1x4x6 is on Blockland v0002 as Window 1x4x5.

5?! LEGO does use 5, but for some of the bricks and windows. Move this to the right forum if you want to. :sceptic:

Post any problems about Blockland v21 or Blockland v0002 here!

Oh cool, somebody else who likes Blockland v0002! :D I haven't played it a lot but it is pretty fun with friends. I've tried the demo of the commercial version, and it's got some cool new features, but I like the LEGO style of the original freeware version better than the revamped style (though I do understand it had to be changed for legal reasons).

LEGO does make window frame pieces in both six brick and five brick heights, but there's more differences between them than just that:

Which ones does Blockland 0002 use? Or does it merge them?

Hi Luigi,

if you want to create a reference topic for Blockland v0002, you should before introduce the software, it's aim, describe it, attach (not oversized) images, write or link a guide, add a comparison with other CAD software if necessary.

The software itself is a early version of Blockland way before it costed money. First, Blockland had LEGO studs but they had the word Blocko on them, but then LEGO sent a warning message for Blockland. Second, there was mods for it. They were called RTB v1.045 and BAC's pack v1.03. Then, someone made mirrors of them for downloads. Here is a link to them. http://blockland.dataorb.net/old.php

Also, there were maps. But in the latest version of Retail Blockland, maps were removed because of issues.

Blockland is sort of a multiplayer game/building program hybrid thing, comparable to the building areas in LEGO Universe or Minecraft (though it came over five years before both of those). It started as freeware, and LEGO almost bought it and made it official, but then they dropped communications with the developer and contacted NetDevil instead (and LEGO Universe was born). The developer wanted to sell it, but he couldn't due to the LEGO studs and minifigures included, so he overhauled the visual style of the game to make it different enough from LEGO to avoid a lawsuit. LEGO Universe came and went, but Blockland is still around today, still being updated with new features and stuff... Perhaps a bad move, LEGO? :P

Anyway, Blockland v0002 is the original LEGO freeware version of it:

And this is what it looks like today, now that it's gone commercial:

Blockland v0002 is no longer officially "supported" but you can still legally download it and play it and stuff from various other websites, as it's freeware. There's also an add-on modification for v0002 called Return to Blockland v1.045, which adds more bricks and minifigure pieces and maps and stuff.

Also, can someone buy me a Retail Blockland key? My mom doesn't want her credit cards used for Retail Blockland. PM me the link to the key.

One option is to give her the cash to buy an Amazon Gift Certificate, and get it that way.

Also, does anyone want to play with me on Blockland v0002? You need RTB v1.045 and BAC's pack v1.03 for this! The server is called Blockland eurobricks server, and it's in the bedroom! And the port is 28000. The max players is 64. (Recommended setting: Use fullscreen because windowed often breaks!)
