LEGO 8461- B/C Models

I was lucky enough to grab this set off a mate, now I have had it for a week and looked at it I am not so much of a fan. I would like to look at building it in to something different.

Does a B model exist for this or has anybody made any C models with instructions based on this set?

It looks nice although it is still sticking to the car topic...a different one would be nice, like the space shuttle's b model, a submarine.
