Trance89 Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 (edited) Hello fellow AFOL's! My name is Martijn and I'm from the Netherlands. I've been a fan of Lego since I was a child. When I was in high school I stopped playing with it. A few years ago I was curious about the the sets and themes Lego was producing at the time, when I came across the Café Corner and Green Grocer. I had to resist myself not to buy them but it didn't last long before I ordered the Café Corner and later on also the Green Grocer. Now I own all modular buildings that have been released untill now. Except for the Market Street because I think it doesn't belong to the series. (but that''s just my opinion) During these years I also started MOCing. My first creation wasn't really a MOC. It was Ollie the Dragon in different Colors. Black instead of green skin and orange instead of blue eyes. Not very original since a lot of people made that one in different colors but you have to start somewhere. Currently I made 5 more MOCs. Four of them are castle/medieval themed which is my favorite theme. The other one is a small car. Other than that I made a few tablescraps and minifigures. I will post pictures of my first real MOC soon. Now, the only problem I have is room to place MOCs and sets. Lucky for me, a Lego store opened in my city last year so I can place some of my MOCs over there. Speaking about the Lego store... I forgot to mention another MOC. It's a bridge that was meant for a customer. The owner of the store asked me if I wanted to build it. Unfortunatly the customer didn't want it anymore before seeing the result or actually; before I could finished it. I still finished it however and now it's on display over there. I might post pictures of it in the Town subforum sometime. Well, that's a bit about me and my Lego 'history.' Edit: I made a topic for my first MOC. you can find it here. Vincent Kessels Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Welcome to Eurobricks, Martijn. Last year was indeed good for the number of Lego shops in the Netherlands. Quote
Holodoc Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Hey, Martijn! You live very close to my home town (Lobberich) , which was my first guess when I read about the new Lego store. You mean the one in the Klaasstraat, right? Very nice store with a large variety of sets - almost like an official Lego store. Good to read you entered the Lego world right in time for the modulars! There are quite a lot of people around who have missed the early sets. I'm also an AFOLM (adult friend of Lego modulars ) and also a T(rains)&T(own) lover. Welcome aboard this great website. Maybe you want to chek this and if you have some spare time in June, also this. So have fun around and if you come along my place, there's always time for a gezellig kopje koffie! Quote

Yes it's the Lego shop in the Klaasstraat. Actually it is kind of an official Lego store except this one has it's own name and style. Quote
Undercover California Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Hello Martijn! I'm from the U.S. and also new to Eurobricks. I'm glad you got back into Lego. (Life has improved.) I'm happy to hear about your MOCs and Modulars. I don't have any of the latter, but always wondered what they all look like together. Can you post a picture sometime? I'd love to see that! Thanks so much! U.C. Quote
