Hello I´m dubious between buying Mill Village Raid or Battle of Alamut?

I find both sets are great, on one hand, the Mill would serve for expanding my Kingdoms realm and acquiring those gorgeous farm animals and minifigs, on the other hand I recently bought The Fight for the Dagger, and got caught by the magic of the theme, Alamut seems great with great build so many pieces and great figs also, and well it has a more imppressive look.

Then came here to EB check out the reviews but can´t still decide... :sceptic:

So anyone with an advice or personal experience of having one or better both of the sets, to hear your opinion.

Thanks. :classic:

I think most people would say the Mill Village Raid because the animals (particularly the goats and pig) are brilliant. However, I own both and would have to say the Battle of Alamut. Firstly because I think it looks better on display and it is certainly a more interesting build. The build of the windmill part of the MVR is ok, but the barn is very simple and both halves of the build are almost exactly the same. Also the Battle of Alamut is a much older set so may become hard to find (it's impossible to find where I'm from (Australia), whereas the MVR is everywhere).

Thanks a lot for your answer, really apreciate it.

And have your opinion on count. :sweet:

Ah, but I say the Mill Village Raid, I totally enjoyed building it and it's fun to well, play with....you have to try it out to see if it works right ?

This equilibriums the balance again. :look::laugh:

Well, my team (tigers) finished the year higher than his (roosters)......go with the flow, the choice is yours to make I'm glad I brought the kingdom's set....though I missed out of the Alamut set, but I don't miss it really now.

I guess if you have more castle sets then the mill, but if you have a PoP collection minus this BoA set well then.....

They're both great sets and I'd have a tough choice picking between them. On balance I do think Battle of Alamut was a better build so I'm leaning towards that, but then MVR and MMV are the only Castle sets I own so I'm perhaps less interested in that theme as a whole.

Great decision. IMO, BoA is a much better value, with nice bricks, and you might even be able to find one on discount. Plus, MVR is brand new, so it will be around a lot longer.

Okay, so now that Bricktober is here, I have a decision to make...

Mill Village Raid for $49 USD

AC Earth Defense HQ for $63 USD

I've considered even springing or the Mill and the King's Chariot set for a combined $77USD, but it is admittedly above my price range. At the beginning of the year this would have been a no-brainer for the Mill, but I simply fell for the AC line this summer and the HQ is obviously its flagship. Decisions!

I am looking to buy a new set and I was looking at the new VW camper van or the older medieval market village. Normally I have only bought model sets without that many play functions but after getting diagon alley I was looking more at other sets.

I know MMV is old and might now be here forever.

Anyone got a couple of pros and cons for the two sets?

I have never owned the VW camper, but I can tell you that the MMV is one of my favorite sets ever made by the TLC. It has great figures, very detailed and playable functions, and it is a great parts pack, no matter what your theme is. I personally think it is a good price for what they give you. The VW camper looks great also, and since you said you are really into models, I think you might really enjoy it also. The level of detail in it is amazing and the set does appear to be for advanced builders, so you know you are in for a good set! I hope this helped.

Easy for me, it was the Mill Village Raid....cool mill and barn plus animals !

Though the HQ is cool looking I didn't buy it....I'm too in-to SW for my sci-fi theme !

So I am having a hard time choosing between these two and I would like your opinion. Both of these sets will probably be discontinued in a few months and they are around the same price point. Should I get

10194 Emerald Night or 10193 Medieval Market Village

Ouch, now that's a tough one....I have both sets and  them the same. The question is are you more a train person or into castle stuff more ?

Once you answer that question you'll know what to buy......buy both if you can !

I couldn't agree more, which is why I'm gonna echo him. Ask yourself what you like more, trains or castle. That'll pretty much be your answer on that. But, I would have to go with MMV. It's just such a great set with a lot of cool details. The buildings are great and the figs are as well. However, I would say get both if possible-although, seeing as you asked the question pretty much makes that suggestion moot...

I couldn't choose between them, I'm pretty sure you'll not be disappointed whichever you go for. Probably worth getting them sooner rather than later though, as neither can have much life left I'd imagine.

The MMV is a great parts pack, no matter your theme is! If you want to expand your collection, having two of a set isn't bad. In fact, it is really convinent since the two can be combined. I hope that helped!

one of the top two sets i ever bought based on value for money in my opinion. I would get as many as you want before it gets discontinued.

I picked up a second one yesterday, I figure since it's on sale, and about to be discontinued if you might ever regret it now's the time to pick it up.

Ideas... I'm not entirely sure.

Edit: both Amazon.com & Toysrus.com have it on sale for between $85-89 with free shipping.

Merged your topic over here, and for your question, get a few more of MMV before it's officially discontinued. Worth every penny.

Hello, I haven't decided on a specific set, but I was wondering if I can get some opinion about promotions.

I am going to get a $35 probably Ewok Attack,

But where?

If directly S@H, I need to paying shipping, however I get double VIP points OR

I can get it at TRU where I would get a bricktober magnet with a MINI Republic Attack Cruiser

So where would be the best place to buy?
