Mrlegoninja Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Ok I got a bit of a conundrum for ya, I can either get the new AT-AT or Grievous Starfighter and the Emperor's Shuttle. The AT-AT looks like an awesome set but I feel the two others may total its awesomeness. I would love to hear what you guys think I should get. But please, dont bring up prices as I dont live in the US so they will be invalid for me. I would go with Emperor's shuttle and Grievous. Never listen to Prateek. ♫ ♫(Christmas) The snow's coming down (Christmas) I'm watching it fall (Christmas) Lots of people around (Christmas) Baby please come home. ♫ ♫ (I'm trying to get you in the mood.) Winter Village Bakery or Winter Toy Shop? I would say get the toy shop. Its older, and more likely to be discontinued, and imho much cooler than the bakery. Quote
Zorbas Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Thanks for your suggestions guys. I was too leaning towards the Winter Toy Shop. I would get the toy shop I find it to be alot bigger and its cheaper Actually, the Winter Toy Shop is more expensive (10 euros) than the Winter Village Bakery in Greece. Quote
prateek Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Toy Shop! You can always get the Bakery next year. Quote

SilentMode Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 I'm completely torn between between the two Lego advent calendars on offer. Normally I would go with City as my preferred theme, but the Castle/Kingdoms one has a few good and uncommon parts in it. Which would you recommend? Quote
escortmad79 Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 I have the kingdoms one as this has a nice range of figs including women in dresses Quote
Stiel Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Kingdoms. Mostly for the figs. Less Advent-oriented overall, but fantastic figures and some creative subsets. I'd say it's more value for money than the City one. Quote
Enpaz Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 I'd also go for castle! City has got too much "creator mini vehicles" and stuff like that in it for me. So Kingdoms all the way. The figs are very nice. Cheers, Enpaz who has now written ten posts and is happy about that Quote
yumiyoshi Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 I've bought the kingdom's one this year.. Very nice! Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 I have only got the city one and it has some uncommon parts too like the baguette, sausage etc But i'd go for the kingdom one. Quote
IAmWillGibson Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 But does the Kingdoms one have a naked Santa? I don't think so. Quote
Captain Becker Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 I have them both But id say kindoms, i like City theme too, but im not so exited about this years City Calender, its some what lame at me Captain Becker Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 But does the Kingdoms one have a naked Santa? I don't think so. No the City calendar has the naked Santa Quote
slimninj4 Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 naked santa was a bit weird for me. So I went with kingdoms. Quote

I just ordered it and I'll have it in my hands in 5 days. Edited November 27, 2010 by Zorbas Quote
Bricks2000 Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Now what should i get? Battle of Naboo or V-wing? Any suggestions would be great. Quote
Enpaz Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Now what should i get? Battle of Naboo or V-wing? Any suggestions would be great. If you haven't got battle droids yet (or really want to improve their number) then go for the Battle of Naboo carrier, obviously. If you're more of an OT guy and badly want a new flying vessel, pick up the V-Wing. Or if you can't stand the thought of not owning that new shiny astromech. Just buy the model you like more. Both will rise in price when they are discontinued, but that's a long way to go! Have you thought about buying both in the long run? If I could only get one of them, then perhaps I would take the carrier. That's just me, though, and we're probably different! Enpaz Quote
Bricks2000 Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Well,i have two Droids sitting on my desk right now...but i really want Jar-jar! The V-wing is a PT set actually, and i don't really care about the droid. Thanks, now i know what i want...the Battle of Naboo! Quote
Lord Embo Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 (edited) I have another dilemma; should I(next year, of course) buy Diagon Alley, buy some of the PotC sets or buy some of the Star Wars Summer sets? This is a very difficult dilemma as I won't have as much money in the Summer of next year than in January because of the sets coming out around that time of year. So what do you think I should do? vexorian Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 (edited) I think Exo-Force is one of the best themes in recent years, and that set you've got pictured is pretty cool. Just my two cents. I'd get it for sure. Eh. I got it when I was little (it's broken down now ), and it's OKAY. The parts are meh (but the dark green is AWESOME!), but if this for display, I'd go for it. To be honest, it all depends on whether you like Exo-Force or not in comparison to new or future sets. Personally, you should buy it now while it is on sale since you mentioned that Lego is much more expensive in Bolivia. Though what do you like more, Exo-Force or current licensed themes(Exo-Force is discontinued)? Well thanks. I think display is my top priority right now and I like any set that looks like a robot or a space ship. So after your posts and seeing more and more pics I decided for it. However, I was just about to buy the set , when I ended up getting Iron Condor and an orange tank instead. I am not sure why. But I am getting buyer remorse already. Except I already built the Iron Condor and I like it. I think I might end up getting the giant spider anyway. It seems that the 2010 SP3 sets are not coming to my town :( That will open up a lot of space... Edited November 29, 2010 by vexorian Quote
JCC1004 Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Is a White Boba Fett worth 25 dollars? Quote
Ricecracker Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Is a White Boba Fett worth 25 dollars? It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. That's all a matter of opinion. To me, no, one minifig is not worth $25 regardless of what colour it is. To others, $40 would be a price they can't refuse. Value is a funny thing in that it differs from person to person. What I think you're really saying is, "I want a white Boba Fett. Is $25 the cheapest I can get one?" The quick answer to that question is yes. A quick search of Bricklink, Amazon and Kijiji shows that $39.99 is the cheapest you can currently find one online. You seem to want one, so I'd say go for it. If you're unsure, but leaning towards getting it, keep it in the bag for now, and resell it later if you decide you don't want it. I hope this helps. Quote

I could even make a profit off of it if I wish to. I posted this before I saw the results of the FBTB giveaway and I was worried I'd win the giveaway if I bought one before the results were posted. I will most likely get it and think it over if I should open it. I am really getting into collecting. Again thank you for giving me some ideas. I didn't think of that. Quote
