Lego Technic Baja Bug Project

Hi all, I just thought I'd start a topic to document my current project. I've built a chassis and I just need to add the final touches to it. After that I'm going to start (trying) to make a body. I'm thinking of making a classic VW Beetle style body but we'll see how it goes...

Very nice! May I ask why you have geared it 1:1 after the ujoint before the wheel hubs? Looking for speed?

Yeah actually! The final gearing is 1:3 but because of it being very light it still crawls even better than any of my other MOCs

Looks great, but perhaps the center of gravity is a bit too high...

yeah maybe it's too high but everything looks very compact :)

Yes it's quite high but the centre of gravity isn't too bad. It's the only way I could mount the battery box without the M Motor hitting it when the suspension compresses.

my moc is gonna be quite small with only RWD and im trying to make it look like a pickup :P

Well I don't usually build on Wednesdays so there won't be any more progress today (apart from a drawing I did at the back of class ;))
