Optimax X Posted February 28, 2007 Author Posted February 28, 2007 Good, yeah, great car- makes a nice noise when going down the craner curves! Oh- just a quik question- any one going to 24 hours of le man this year? There is going to be a terrific battle between peugeots and audis so me and my dad are probably going. Quote
Optimax X Posted March 5, 2007 Author Posted March 5, 2007 ....okay, i guess nonbody else is going to le mans then! Geneva motorshow this week, there are some cool new cars on offer, see This I'm interested to see what the final KTM x-bow! Wow, koingsegg are planning a 1,018 brake horse power car! My, that's even more than a veyron- top speed 255MPH! That is gonna be quick! Also, look at this ugly as a wart! Don't bother vauxhall! Quote
5150 Lego Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Wow, koingsegg are planning a 1,018 brake horse power car! My, that's even more than a veyron- top speed 255MPH!That is gonna be quick! I dunno. I just don't see the point of a production car that goes over 200mph. I'll admit that a 255mph top speed is impressive, but there are few places in the world that you can safley (and leagally) reach 200, so whats the point? Quote
Brainbox Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Also, look at this ugly as a wart!Don't bother vauxhall! Really? I don't think it's that bad. I dunno. I just don't see the point of a production car that goes over 200mph. I'll admit that a 255mph top speed is impressive, but there are few places in the world that you can safley (and leagally) reach 200, so whats the point? Other than a race track. But yeah I agree. Certainly impressive, and a marvelous feat of engineering... just a little pointless. Quote
Optimax X Posted March 6, 2007 Author Posted March 6, 2007 Anyone seen that news story on BBC, somebody crashed a veyron today! I'll try and find the article again, but aparently the veyeon hit a van with a pregnante woman in it and then a tree. Nobody was killed. Front of the veyron a terrible mess though! Quote
5150 Lego Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Other than a race track. But yeah I agree. Certainly impressive, and a marvelous feat of engineering... just a little pointless. There are only a few in the world were you can reach that high a speed. But i guess if you can afford to buy that thing than you can afford to ship it to any track. But in the end, i still agree that its pointless. Quote
Optimax X Posted March 7, 2007 Author Posted March 7, 2007 It's not going that fast, but it's owning a special car, like with my 355, we will probably never go 185MPH in it, but it' just being reconginesed as owning a special car. Veyron crash pictures Wow- geneva motorshow is very impressive, only just started, and one of the best motorshows of the year, look at some of the pictures of cars being realised/concept carsmotor car heaven Quote
5150 Lego Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 It's not going that fast, but it's owning a special car, like with my 355, we will probably never go 185MPH in it, but it' just being reconginesed as owning a special car. You don't need a 200+MPH car for it to be speacial. I was in Monterey this weekend were there was a bunch of exotic car owners rolling down Canery Row (were many cars cruise) in Monterey. Some of the cars were a Ferrar F-430 , Lamborgini Galardo, Ford GT and a few others. A few minutes later some old school 50's hot rods came rolling through. People seemed to take quite a bit more liking to the hot rods over the exotics. I'm not saying that hot rods are any better than exotics (i don't think that either are nessasarly better than the other) I kinda look at it like a speacial feature on a car. A feature that you'll never use. You can bet that that car will cost up wards of 1 million. Just seems like a lot of wasted money just to be reconginesed as owning a "speacial" car. Quote
Optimax X Posted March 7, 2007 Author Posted March 7, 2007 Well yeah, i mean all special cars, not just super cars, a car that will make people turn there heads and go "wow" Let's talk about geneva now shall we? Officialy starts tommorow and goes on till the 18th, can't wait to see al the new car realises. Quote
Brainbox Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Anyone seen that news story on BBC, somebody crashed a veyron today! I'll try and find the article again, but aparently the veyeon hit a van with a pregnante woman in it and then a tree. Nobody was killed. Front of the veyron a terrible mess though! I'm sorry... Someone actually bought a Veyron!? As in, someone could actually afford to buy a Veyron!? Quote
Optimax X Posted March 7, 2007 Author Posted March 7, 2007 Yeah- quite afew people, well, when i say afew- the number of cars that have been made have all be sold, so about 30 or 40 people have them. Yeah- what a plonker! In the wet as well! Does this country no longer have brains? Quote
Brainbox Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Was he going too fast to see anyone (showing off) or is he just an idiot? It crashed with an Astra too :-D Talk about different. I says it's thought to be one of 12 here in Britain. Quote
Optimax X Posted March 7, 2007 Author Posted March 7, 2007 Doesn't say, i'd presmume it was just to do iwth the difficult conditions and poor visability at the time because it was raining. Geneva anyone? Is anyone aware with geneva motorshow, one of the best motorshows of the year? So many new cars being realised- Jaguar CXF, Fiat punto abarth, astons, gumpert apollos Quote
5150 Lego Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Geneva is cool, but it sucks that half the cars will never make it to U.S. shores. I am looking forward to the new Camaro. Concept right now, but should be out by mid 08 as an 09 model. http://www.salon-auto.ch/en/en_images/inde...ex=705&idPage=1 Quote

Brainbox Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Yes- afew times. Oh, well in that case, maybe it has been released. Quote
Optimax X Posted March 11, 2007 Author Posted March 11, 2007 Yes- top gear did a test on it afew years ago if i can remember rightly, but it's like why the veyron is there- it's not new but it's very special. Quote
5150 Lego Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 What? You mean what companies- alot of people i know just want american cars to stay where they blong- america.Geneva cars Oh really? Like who? And If your going to compare euro with american cars please give some examples. And please don't use $200,000 ferrari's or any other super exotics as your examples as cars that handle. Lets keep this using really world examples. Quote
