Day 3: War comes to Ahven

It should have been a routine recon operation, but today had to get interesting. We were patrolling the southern shelf, near one of the planetary shield relays when we found Lance Corporal Carl Ellis dead. We thought marauders had gotten him, but one of my men pointed out a hole in the wall right behind him. After examining it, we discovered scorch marks on the wall. Something powerful hit him; it almost looked like plasma fire. We checked his datapad only to hear confusion and screams of pain. I heard several guns go off; they sounded familiar. Only one military uses plasma, and I prayed that they weren't here.

The best so far. Most of the problems your previous mini-MOCs had are gone. Practically all, in fact. Instead, there's a level of quality that rivals some of the best vignette-style MOCcers out there. Lots of details and good color-coordination.
