Rescue Rangers

I suppose many of you remember the "Rescue Rangers" cartoon.

Good characters were flying on the dirigible.

So, Let's Watch:

Dirigible has quite simple construction: Plastic bottle, balloon & some small straps.

It maneuvers with wings & tail.

Now, Lets look!

I really like the Moc, I like how many details you managed to get into it. the thing I like most is how you've managed to make it look like the balloon is inflated. Very cool!

Elen i voted for your work, and glad you got 3rd place on Zeppelin Battle mini-contest. In fact i had think that your work would have first place, it is great replica of Rescue Ranger plane, even so hard to make balloon looks very similar. I still can't believe that it holds normally and model not fall into parts by the balloon weight (real helium balloon inside the LEGO one? :) )

The only disappointment is that LEGO hasn't made Rescue rangers figures, but may be new Chima or old Fabuland would look good inside this plane, and would help everybody :)

Thank you! I am glad to be in winners. The balloon is heavy, but the MOC stands quite steady. I don't have old Fabuland ones. :(

It looks very nice! I built the Ranger Plane myself 3 years ago - you can check it out here if you're interested. However yours is obviously bigger and more detailed. My only complaint is that the wings seem too short. Other than that it's a great MOC and a good represantation of the cartoon plane. I'm a big Rescue Rangers fan and I'm also aware that they have quite a fanbase in Russia.

I have seen you variant. It was a little bit simple for me. So, I have tried to do it myself )

The wings are "just the size". If they will be bigger, they will look like worse. I have tried.

All my childhood I have seen this cartoon every Sunday.

I really love this. The shape of the bottle is fantastic and the appendages are very clever. The suction cups legs are awesome.

I have to say that I have never heard of the Rescue Rangers myself although I am sure i could Google them.

I did think that it looked a bit top heavy (Not from a model perspective, just from standing up.) and was a bit concerned it may fall over. However you say it is quite steady so I will be happy as it would be a great shame if it did fall off your shelf.

Are you working on the figures to go into it? Especially as you plan to keep it made for a while.

This looks amazing! I think it's especially clever the way you have the straps pulling down on the balloon in the middle, slightly over-inflating the ends. Nice attention to detail there!

There is so much more "cute old stuff" ) There is a big difficulty to make animals in right scale. I cannot make them look good right now.

You can pick up Fabuland pretty cheaply online. For a full on custom the quality isn't even that important too.

I had next to none but one very cheap eBay lot later and I have plenty to work with.
