LegoTrainFanatic Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 Just went to my nearby lego store, and noticed the train sets were back out. I'm just speculating here, but why else stick them back up on the shelf then get rid of extra train stock to get space for the new sets? Also, since TLC released a bonus cargo train in 2011 after the regular trains, do you think TLC might release a bonus passenger train after the next batch of trains? Quote

Also, since TLC released a bonus cargo train in 2011 after the regular trains, do you think TLC might release a bonus passenger train after the next batch of trains? I'd guess the trains are out again because as trains sell well for Christmas, they've restocked. Who knows what extras we might or might not receive, it's hard enough to predict when trains will be refreshed. I'm hoping before Xmas next year we'll see some new city train sets, 1 cargo, 1 passenger and a few supporting sets. If any further sets get released after that depends on sales, and I'd guess we are more likely to get another cargo train since they seem to sell better. Quote

Yeah, your probably right about them being back out for Christmas, it's just that last Christmas, I don't remember the sets being on the shelves, only now are they back. By the way, that was just my first post, so I'm still getting used to the new stuff on here. Quote
LegoTrainFanatic Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Oh no, just talked to a employee at a nearby lego store, she said the newest train set they got was the lone ranger train, and the only reason the train sets were on the shelves again were because they happened to find some extra stock. Looks like no new summer trains. Lets just hope they haven't got any because lego hasn't shipped them out to stores yet, and there will be summer trains. Quote
1974 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Trains are indeed coming, be patient grasshoppers. I'd never lie to you, would I? Also, LEGO store employees don't know jack about what's up. They'll get told way after we ninjas got pics, sets and are rollin' ... As always Quote
Piranha Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 New trains? That sounds excellent, I wonder what direction they will take next. Quote
1974 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I allready said. And if I'm wrong, you can tar me and roll me in Megab .. Megbl.. mmmgaarhhh ... that other unspeakable wannabe sorta brickish thing Quote
LegoTrainFanatic Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I would not entirely surprised if we'll see a white passenger trainset, a blue cargo/freight trainset and a decent sized trainstation build in a modern architecture style coming up in august Ah yes, I'd forgotten what you'd mentioned. Do you know more that you're letting on? I guess it helps to live in Denmark. Quote
Piranha Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 I missed that part. Those sets sound really good, especially the train station. I have been waiting a long time for a decent track side structure since the engine shed. Quote
LegoTrainFanatic Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 (edited) Yeah, a new train station will be nice, haven't gotten one yet. Is there going to be a level crossing with this new wave? I don't have any proper ones. Edited November 7, 2013 by LegoTrainFanatic Quote

CityBuilder Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 I looked through the holiday 2013 lego catalogue and noticed they're advertising the 2010 trains, would they be doing that trying to clear out stock so they can bring in new trains this summer? This does make it seem possible we'll be getting more trains of some type sooner or later. Quote
LegoTrainFanatic Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Do you think the passenger train will be like the last passenger train (cab at each end), or like the 7740 (an engine pulling 2 cars)? Quote

I hope for second variant, thanks to PF system is one interior of car wasted. So engine with 2 vagons will be better than closed train. But I dont think so, another white train sounds like another "ICE" express to me. And blue freight train? Some kind of kiruna lok maybe? Edited November 6, 2013 by Ondra Quote
ritzcrackerman Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 But I dont think so, another white train sounds like another "ICE" express to me. I hope Lego takes another stab at the ICE-style train. As much as I have tried to love the 7897-1, or even modify it, that ugly front piece and the poor fit is SUCH a bummer. A brick-built nose on for an ICE type of passenger train would be more than welcome. Thinking now, I might even prefer they save that for a future Creator Expert train... Quote
Ondra Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Lets hope, but last two white trains are with ugly noses. But also there is possibility we are going to see another juniori zed piece see for example helicopter and planes. Quote

Oh no, you're right. I really hope they don't do a ugly one or two piece nose. If the do, I will probably pass on it, unless the rest of the train looks great. Quote

I think chances are pretty good for one or two piece nose as those starter sets are targeted towards younger builders. Adults can always MOD them to brick built standards. Quote

BrickSlasher Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Im hoping for some American starter sets and a European Expert Electric passenger locomotive. Or maybe even a Big Boy 4-8-8-4 now that would be epic! Quote
CityBuilder Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Under the 2014 section of creator, Brickset has a set listed called the "Emerald Express". Does anyone know if this is mini scale or mini fig scale? Quote
UrbanErwin Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 @ citybuilder judging by the price point.... 4,99 Eur / 6.99 US, I'd say too small to be too enjoyable. I am still wondering about the "Emerald Express" in the Creator Line 2014 (hope dies last?) ;-) http://www.brickset....il/?set=31015-1 (based on the set # and the other known 2014 Creator sets and their numbers, it looks like its just a creator train ala http://www.brickset....ail/?set=4837-1 (or maybe its bigger) as opposed to being an actual train that runs on tracks. nesquik Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Under the 2014 section of creator, Brickset has a set listed called the "Emerald Express". Does anyone know if this is mini scale or mini fig scale? No, it's not minifig scale or track gauge. It is just a small model of an old American green steam train, which is to say it has the oversized smoke funnel, large cabin and large wheels. The design is a little disappointing from an AFOL perspective, but since this is a very small Creator set for children, then it has its place. Im hoping for some American starter sets and a European Expert Electric passenger locomotive. Or maybe even a Big Boy 4-8-8-4 now that would be epic! Creator Expert (Exclusive) trains are on a three year life cycle. The H.E won't be phased out until the end of 2015, and it's selling very well. Quote
thiot Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 The H.E won't be phased out until the end of 2015, and it's selling very well. What makes you say it's selling very well? Do you have sales info? Or is it just based on from what you've seen? I believe there's a topic in the forum about the sales of the HE. If you have specific info on how well it's selling, could you post in that topic? Follow-up question: Anyone know how the sales of the HE (or Creator line trains) compare with the City line of trains? I know it's different targets and City includes motors. Just curious. To keep this post on topic, I'll end by saying my wish for a future train. I'd love to see a local commuter train that replaces 7938, but with functional doors that open at street level. Quote
