ACPin Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 The Republic attack dropships swoop into battle to deploy troopers. These compact fighters are armed with cannons and chin guns to drill deep into battle zones. The pilot briefly lands with the ship's cockpit rotated into deploy position to drop up to two troopers onto the field before flying back into the air and providing close ground support. Still working on this Dropship and it's swooshable! AC Quote
howie28 Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 That looks awesome! I'm not sure whether this is a 'real' SW ship or not... Quote
Mr Man Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 It's a puzzled looking pilot wondering were the back of his ship has gone . Quote
M<0><0<DSWIM Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Glad to see you working on a 2nd entry. I like the shape of the ship so far. Are you reusing your Geonosis set for this? Quote
M<0><0<DSWIM Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Looks pretty cool! I like how it folds into the landing position. Is this a "real" ship? I don't remember ever seeing this in the show. Quote
HJR-Holland Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I guess it depends a bit on what you mean by 'real'. It is a vehicle that was made by Hasbro last year: More images can be found here: http://www.rebelscum.com/Republic_Attack_Dropship.asp It's a nice rendition of the vehicle; it's on my longlist to be built as well, although I'm waiting for LEGO to come out with smaller canopies, so it can be made a wee bit smaller... Good one, ACpin! Quote
Bob De Quatre Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I'm curious about this ship... And to be honest I don't like it, but yours is still better that Hasbro's But it's still a really nicely built ship and pretty accurate. Well done ACpin Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I've seen some weird (and non-canon?) SW vehicles released by Hasbro and it's great to see someone try to make a LEGO version of one of these. Thanks for this 'fresh' take on CW MOCs AC! Good job! Quote
korpen4444 Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Nice work ACPin! You really captured the ship's design. I know my project can't compete with this one! Once again, nice job! Quote
Only Sinner Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Good job, here. I really appreciate the hard work you put into all of your projects. The fact that you've done a relativley obscure concept vehicle would score you extra points as far as I''m concerned, even if the source material is butt- ugly. Fine execution on the model, that's for sure! Quote

It's based from the minirig type vehicle that Hasbro made as HJR pointed out. I guess it depends a bit on what you mean by 'real'. Good one, ACpin! I couldn't find a more suitable canopy so I used those and it's not an exact match to the Hasbro details but I made sure that it had most of the features. I'm curious about this ship... And to be honest I don't like it, but yours is still better that Hasbro's But it's still a really nicely built ship and pretty accurate. Thanks for this 'fresh' take on CW MOCs AC! Good job! I haven't done an SW ship/vehicle in awhile so this is just the start of maybe something bigger... Nice work ACPin! You really captured the ship's design. I know my project can't compete with this one! Once again, nice job! This is a CB not a competition/contest, just build what you can for the community spirit.
