Plissken Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Here is a little MOC I put together a few hours ago. Enjoy. Aquaman, the king of Atlantis is ready for battle. He mounted his war chariot, pulled by two giant white sharks, to race into the fray and defend his kingdom. (I never understood the hatred for this character. It's a great hero with some really awesome stories out there. The more childish version, also depicted on the Big Bang Theory, is long outdated and has nothing to do with modern day Aquaman. All the skeptics out there, give him a try ;) ) Quote
SteampunkDoc Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Very nice! I too don't understand all the Aquaman hate, but if anything, this MOC should help that perception. The "Shark chariot" idea is really neat, and you've done a fair job of pulling it off. While the body of the chariot could use a bit more work, the rest of it, and the rest of the MOC, is top-notch. I'm assuming that this is an original idea, as a quick Google search yielded nothing. The design is not much more than several curved bricks in front, and wall with the needed holes in back. (The tentacles were a cool idea, but depending on the design aesthetic, may or may not be that great. ) I looks like you tried to do an atlantean stonework style, but the execution is just a bit too basic, and I think you could come up with a bit better, more detailed design. If you want to go the stonework style (Which would be pretty cool) you'll need to dump the tentacles. But if you were going for a more sleek, black, stingray inspired design, then keep them and change the body. Remember, you can draw designs from Lego podracer cockpits, and there are a ton of those out there. Sorry, if I sound negative, I'm not trying to be. It's a sweet concept that could definitively be fleshed-out into something great. Quote
Devorath Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Really cool! The chariot seems small though, and Arthur's feet seem squished. Do you mind if I show the people on the Aquaman Shrine? I'll give you credit! Quote
KZB Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 cool, lego could do sth like that instead of putting him in brick of ice like some kind of damsell in distress, I really like it Quote

You made some very good points and I must admit that the chariot itself covers a lot of different ideas which didn't fit together to well in the end. The MOC is still alive and maybe I'll give the chariot another try with some of your suggestions in mind. Really cool! The chariot seems small though, and Arthur's feet seem squished. Do you mind if I show the people on the Aquaman Shrine? I'll give you credit! Thank you for the comment. I have no problem with it if you show it to the Aquaman blog. Like you already said, a credit would be appropriate. cool, lego could do sth like that instead of putting him in brick of ice like some kind of damsell in distress, I really like it Thank you. I really hope the Superhero line will cover more heroes and maybe more heroic sets for the guys and girls besides Batman and Superman. Quote
