blumathu Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 I created a train car using only parts from the TMNT Shellraiser, power functions, and the extra wheel truck from my Horizon Express. I plan on using this to power the Constitution when I get it. Quote
Hey Joe Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 A for effort but will the colors and design match? The yellow matches the Lone Ranger boxes though, so it might work. Joe Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Is it based on any particular one you know of or did you just make it up? Looks kind of like some of those old electric railcars that they had back in the 50's & 60's. Quote
Spitfire2865 Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 I can tell you now this would not go well with the Constitution. The colors and overall design do not match those of the American west. Although...this would look interesting with a futuristic train. I would try to do something like that. Might be a nice experiment. Quote

I know it won't really look right with a western train, but I have a limited selection of pieces. I'm working towards a total layout that will be a hodge podge of all different types of sets anyway, so I don't think it matters much-- for me and my son anyway Quote
Lazarus Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Its an improvment on the TMNT stuff, i was really disapointed with what they did. But the minifigs are very good. Quote
grymg Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 I found the shellraiser set new no minifigs for cheap, so I converted it for better use to haul the Turtles around New York City. Unfortunately I got the v2 version without the train base, but I added it back. Other than adding the bogies and 6x24 train base, no other parts needed. Quote
Jorrith Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Looks nice, but why do you want this to push your constitution, when you can add the PF to the set? This is a motorized constitution. The only things changed are the motor is under the tender, and the jail car has 2 studs added to it's length to accomodate the wires. Everything fits nicely. The train runs ok on flat tracks, but due to the weight of the tender, it slips on flextrack. The easy fix is to add some small change (coins) into the hidden compartment of the tender. Unfortunatly the gatling gun car has to be moved to the rear, but if you are not ok with that, you could use a longer wire to route power to the motor. Quote
grymg Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I ended up extending the jail car with a 6x24 train base and put everything in there to keep the weight on the train motor. Put some PF lights via brown headlight bricks in the back because I had a spare set lying around. Quote
