legomuppet9 Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Just wondering if you guys have any favourite stores you use to buy your parts from. As I'm kind of new to Bricklink, and want to find a reliable and cheap (ish) source of Lego Technic Thanks in advance legomuppet9 Quote
Meatman Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 (edited) I've bought a lot of stuff from Paul's wife. She has a good bit of Technic parts and off the wall Technic parts. LINK There are also some German dealers who have huge quantities of Technic parts at pretty good prices. Edited April 11, 2013 by Meatman Quote
skylinedan Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Yeah, there are some German stores that have stupid amounts of stuff, but for me the shipping would be too much so I stick with stores here in the states. I,ve spent a lot with a store out in Washington, great service. Most of the time I t just depends on what I,m on the hunt for, I tend to buy large lots of things unless there expensive. Quote
D3K Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 "byggeklodsen 20% off" or something, a Danish store, is extremely fast and has good prices and low cost shipping. Shopped there >15 times over the last 6 months. Also: They have never written the price on the outside either, which is nice for us living outside the EU..:-) although they currently don't have any Technic sets in stock, they have a lot of parts, all new, and mostly from sets from the last couple of years Quote

grum64 Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 (edited) Just wondering if you guys have any favourite stores you use to buy your parts from. As I'm kind of new to Bricklink, and want to find a reliable and cheap (ish) source of Lego Technic Thanks in advance legomuppet9 I've used BrickLink for 2 or 3 years and in that time I've ordered close to 5000 parts, and the vast majority of those were from these 2 UK stores: http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=masterbuilder1 http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=keithkram They both have a very good selection of parts, the quality of the used parts especially has always been very good. They've been very reasonably priced, well packaged and delivered quickly. I've used other BrickLink stores, UK, European and US, and have been always been pleased with the parts and service but I keep going back to 'a brick or more' and 'KRAM' Edited April 11, 2013 by grum64 Quote
Chilly Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 I've used "A brick or More", "Kats bits and kits", "A to Z from Phil Wright" and "Shed Load of Bricks". All been really quick, with clean, well packaged bricks andquick service. Postage was reasonable on all. Hardest thing is to find as few suppliers who have the most of the items on your shopping list! Good Luck Quote
AKM_76 Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Use the Bricklink services at their best, make a wishlists and see which shops have the highest quantity of items automatically. Quote
legomuppet9 Posted April 11, 2013 Author Posted April 11, 2013 Awesome, thanks for all the tips and store suggestions I'll probably try and make an order very soon, with parts for myvsupercar Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Here in the states, I used Plastic Bricks Direct quite a bit. They have a pretty large inventory, and they used to be fairly cheap. I haven't ordered any parts from anybody in a while, but I think PBD's prices have gone up a bit. My last few orders were from a few other random stores. Still, they have a good inventory, and they shipping fast. Quote

nychase Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 I have almost 500 feedback which is mostly from buying. What I can tell you is that you can buy from pretty much anyone and you will get what you expect out of the deal. Very rarely am I disappointed from any seller. One exclusion but they were removed from bricklink. On that note, I have placed 14 orders from Bricksy in Germany. Don't be afraid of international orders or shipping. Out of nearly 500 orders (both buying and selling) I have NEVER had an order go missing. I know it happens but the odds are in your favor that you wont have any issues. Plus, you can't beat those Germans for their vast supply of vintage/rare parts. If you want to know why they are so well stocked and want to cry, checkout Ebay.de and see how cheap models are. Brings me to tears instantly. I also frequent every store mentioned by Paul and want to give my strong recommendation to Brick em Danno here in the USA. Danny is a *PERFECT* seller. Always well packed, shipped fast, super responsive to anything you may need and just an all around great guy. Hes also a member here on EB so he knows what to stock whenever a new MOC comes out.
