pint14 Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Which one of them should i build. I m asking beacuse some of you have some great tips and some experiences. Quote
legomuppet9 Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Hmm... it depends how serious you want it to perform But remember, the more wheels, the more complex the chassis will be, the more parts etc etc. The Tatra 6x6 is good as it has two front axles and one rear one, which is better for trial trucks than 4x4 or 6x6 but two rear and one front, however is more complex as you have two steered front axles. So yes it's basically down to personal preference in my honest opinion, and down to how many parts you have Quote
jorgeopesi Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 For me the answer is to build always the most complex but I recognize that the 6x6 has a special appeal, difficult decision... I've already built a 4x4 and a 8x8 I love those trucks. 4x4 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=496604 8x8 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=499607 Quote
Balrog Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 More complex = more impressive. I'd vote for 8x8. Quote
pint14 Posted April 9, 2013 Author Posted April 9, 2013 (edited) I have already builted 2 front axles with steering and i have enough parts for more 2 axles, but i want to build TT what can perform good. Edited April 9, 2013 by pint14 Quote

Ramacco Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 (edited) Some good Tatra trucks by a Belgian TruckTrialer with instructions! Tatra 8x8 became 1st in 2011: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=483906 Tatra 6x6 became 4rd in 2012: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=502202 He became 4rd because the other competitors became better and better. For 2013 he's working on a 8x8 again. Edited April 9, 2013 by Ramacco Quote
cgg199 Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 It's up to you... More wheels = More complex = More parts to go wrong If you go for 6, make sure you have 4 wheels at the front and 2 at the back, even though this is normally missed, because most weight is usually carried at the front in a TT. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 (edited) I don't build off-roaders....I would go with 6x4,with all wheel steering with a mid mounted engine. Edited April 9, 2013 by Alasdair Ryan Quote
Saberwing40k Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 If you've got enough wheels, go for the 8x8. More wheels=more traction=better performance. Just remember, trucks with this kind of suspension can be quite unstable in the sideways direction if you do it wrong. And if you have enough XL motors, have one power each axle. Quote
Someonenamedjon Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I like the orange color on the 6 x 6, but i would go for 8 x 8. Quote
