Clone OPatra Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I think that he's saying it's a sneaky and false tactic to show a 'list price' above every other store (and LEGO's) list price, and then slash it to the regular list price. But, if in a couple months TRU goes back to that higher price, then that really is TRU's list price. tl;dr TRU is a sucky place to buy LEGO. Quote
krystalKING Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 This is ironic, I was at toys r us ealier, and the passenger train, which is advertised as 130 with a list price of 150, Was ACTUALLY 150 dollars. This means that toys r us list price is actually the store price. Quote
Good Cragger Fan Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 "List price" means the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (or MSRP), not there own regular selling price which could be higher or lower there (in this case higher there), which means that it is a scam! Quote

No. "List Price" means the price they usually list the item for. It does not mean MSRP. MSRP is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price and no seller ever has to sell for that amount if they don't want to. Quote
Vindicare Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 tl;dr TRU is a sucky place to buy LEGO. Amen to that! I've finally decided to quit dong my spending there. For one thing, their rewards program is crap compared to TLGs VIP. Then there's the lovely TRU tax... Quote

Then there's the lovely TRU tax... I wholly second this; its somewhat exclusive content is probably the only reason I'd shop there. That, or if their discounts put the prices on par with Walmart or MSRP. Quote
