Daniel-Technic Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Buckinghamshire, UK. With 2 Lego shop ( MK and Walford ) within 25 miles :-) Quote
Vindicare Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 This is a great idea, quite a widespread base. We all know where these countries are, but it's neat seeing them 'in the flesh' and seeing how much of the world we populate. Add another California resident, Santa Rosa, to be exact. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Add another California resident, Santa Rosa, to be exact. I think I remember seeing you on there, except that you had said you were in the same place as I was, and your little marker ended up behind mine, so unless you zoom in a lot closer to San Francisco, you can't see it on the map. Holodoc Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Looking good so far! I can add you (and others) if you want. I'd need to know where you live. No exact address. Nettetal, (the one close to Venlo), Germany I live in Guernsey in the Channel Islands :) Wooha! I spent my holidays some years ago on Guernsey. Nice island! What village exactly? Quote
gratefulnat Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Neat idea, particularily after the April Fool's escapade - now we get to see some real demographics. Richterswil, Switzerland Quote
Stinky Posted April 9, 2013 Author Posted April 9, 2013 Now we're getting somewhere! ;) All added. Anyone? Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Zooming in to my blip, I apparently live in a bush, in the cemetery, where some of my relatives are buried Quote
Sisco Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Zooming in to my blip, I apparently live in a bush, in the cemetery, where some of my relatives are buried I live in some guy's backyard on the bad side of town, apparently... Quote
Holodoc Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 All added. Anyone? Wohoo, my pin is very close to the exact spot! (< 200 m) Well done. Quote
Calanon Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Well done on the pin. Out of the entirety of Essex you managed to get very close to my college! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Zooming in to my blip, I apparently live in a bush, in the cemetery, where some of my relatives are buried Hmm, looks like I'm living on the side of a road in the middle of some hills near Candlestick Park. Must've sold my house in order to pay for all this LEGO. Quote
Zeya Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 I can't for the life of me figure out how to add a pin to this map. Can someone add the following link for my location? I just used a nearby freeway entrance that leads into my neighborhood. https://maps.google.com/maps?q=37.282645,-121.811192&num=1&t=m&z=18 Hmm, looks like I'm living on the side of a road in the middle of some hills near Candlestick Park. Must've sold my house in order to pay for all this LEGO. Hey I live down the bay from you! This is fun. Sidebar: I wish there was a map like this for BL stores. It would be nice to save on shipping costs by picking up orders in-person. Although I realize that might be a security concern for sellers, I guess. Quote
Stinky Posted April 11, 2013 Author Posted April 11, 2013 @Zeya: the exact location you gave doesn't show a home? I'll be happy to add Lego and BL shops if there are more people who think this'd be useful? I added flags to the map. Maybe a good idea maybe not? Check it out! Quote
UrbanErwin Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 (edited) LOL, mine is close too within 200 meters @Stinky do you use IP-addresses that you can get it so close? Edited April 11, 2013 by UrbanErwin Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 I will be happy to give my location, but I want a Scotland flag beside my name. Quote
Zeya Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 @Zeya: the exact location you gave doesn't show a home? That's correct. I don't want to show just anybody where exactly I live. Anybody can see this page from the internet. The location I gave is just a freeway off-ramp leading into my general neighborhood. I'll be happy to add Lego and BL shops if there are more people who think this'd be useful? I think that would be better suited as its own map. I was thinking of it more as a utility to find shops nearby where I live, in an attempt to save on shipping costs if the seller is willing to hand off packages. (Maybe even pay cash, knowhatimean? :) I added flags to the map. Maybe a good idea maybe not? Check it out! I'm loving the country flags. Quote
Andy D Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 (edited) Can you put? 1 Mills Circle, Ontario, CA LEGO store I most often frequent. Andy D Edited April 11, 2013 by Andy D Quote
Stinky Posted April 11, 2013 Author Posted April 11, 2013 I don't have access to members' IP-addresses, so the ones I got about right are lucky shots. Flag of Scotland (and Wales, Ireland etc) is no problem at all. Adding one Lego store would look a bit silly on our map? Adding them all (how many are there?) would perhaps result in chaos. Don't TLG-USA have a map with all their stores on their website? Quote
Andy D Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 (edited) Adding one Lego store would look a bit silly on our map? I put the LEGO store address as the closest place to my hometown as I am wiling to disclose. Just as a zoom-in on Ontario CA for my map location. Could you just add Ontario, CA and forget my (not as clever as I thought) LEGO store address? Andy D Edited April 11, 2013 by Andy D Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 My rough location..... Valasay, Isle of Lewis.Scotland. Quote
