Flieger Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Hello Forum, my very first moc, be gentle please, but do not spare critics. I know the background is a little unimaginative, that is because I just started again with Lego and currently I am focussed on the minifigs. The scene is from the time Aerys’s mental health began to decline. Tywin Lannister is still at court, and Aerys has just discovered wildfire but not yet used. He is preparing for it though and his son Rhaegar is clearly appalled. (The lightning of the scene was provided by my LEDs-lights and did not need to be photoshopped. Though if I should have, please tell me) The scene: Full size here: The minifigs: Aerys with the Wildfire: Rhaegar and Tywin: Regards Quote
kabel Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Ah this is great. Actually this forum made me awere of ASOIAF and currently I'm reading all five of them for the second time. So I really like this moc, except for the fleshy heads which I don't like as a matter of principle ... So what's next, Aerys torturing the Starks? Quote
Flieger Posted March 29, 2013 Author Posted March 29, 2013 Thanks! Next one will be Targaryen as well, but in Essos and much bigger Maybe Dany in Astapor, since I hope one can recreate that fairly well with PoP, Pharaoh's Quest and IJ. But this moc will take a while... Until then a little shot of the Trident: I know most have them on foot, but I think they were on horseback. Would make sense for knights, wouldn't it? If you have any idea what could be used for an antler helmet, please tell me... Then I will give Robert is proper headdress. Quote
Bytor Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Looking good! (I see Helm's Deep ) The red LEDs are great and what a spooky fire pit! Quote
Jareth Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Honestly man, you have nothing to apolgoze for. This is a great MOC, and a great picture. May I invite you to join the Nocturnus guild in Historica? Quote
Darth Caedus Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Robert would totally go without a helmet, it suits his brash and bold style. And it could have been knocked off in the battle. Superb GOT MOCs. It would be the ultimate Lego line that could sadly never happen. Probably for the best, because I'd go broke... And I applaud your use of fleshies. For licensed properties like this it is far superior to the hokeyness of yellow - even having grown up with Lego since the 90s, I much prefer fleshie. Because, let's face it - yellow is pretty much just cartoon code for white people (Simpsons, Spongebob...) Quote
Flieger Posted April 2, 2013 Author Posted April 2, 2013 Thanks to all your compliments! May I invite you to join the Nocturnus guild in Historica? Nice of you to ask, but I will stick to GoT for a while and considering how much stuff GRRM provides I will stick to it a long while... Robert would totally go without a helmet, it suits his brash and bold style. And it could have been knocked off in the battle. Superb GOT MOCs. It would be the ultimate Lego line that could sadly never happen. Probably for the best, because I'd go broke... Indeed, it is really Robert style going without helmet, but I vaguely remember he had one during the Battle of the Trident iirc. ... and yes, a GoT line would make me bankrupt soon, moreso than LotR ever could. I love LotR, but ASOIAF offers a greater wealth of characters and places I care for. I never cared for the Easterlings or the Elves e.g., but I could sympathize with both Baratheon and Targaryen. Then I like the Starks (who does'nt), the Free Cities, the .............. I could go on forever. The fact that GRRM does not have a clear cut good vs evil like Tolkien makes things a lot more difficult. With Lego LotR I am contend with my Rohirrim :) Quote
