Even if I'm still in london at the moment I'm planning my most challenging MOC I've ever tried to build :P I know that usually top builders don't reveal anything until it's done but: - 1 im not a top builder XD - 2 i can't wait to show you what I'm doing lol I'm pretty impatient because this is going to be my biggest and most complex MOC I've ever created... So this is what im going to start from the 8th of april when I'll get back to my place Lancia Fulvia HF and it's gonna have the following features - Two L motors for front drive with differential - Return to center steering - remote controlled 3+R or 4+R gearbox (hopfully 4+R so it could be the same as the real one) - Automatic clutch - full suspensions - Remote controlled handbrake (to have some fun on dirt) - Front LED lights - Brake lights (activated when the handbrake is used) - Working hood and doors and steering wheel ...i really hope i'll be able to make it :D this is a scale test :) I just need to find those 3x3 circles in a transparent version if they exist... I would make a few different test versions of the gearbox in simple chassis to work out what works and what does not. Quote

I would make a few different test versions of the gearbox in simple chassis to work out what works and what does not. some months ago i built this that has an automatic clutch system it's different from fuel cars but it works great for electric motors http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=77753&hl= and even if it's small enough to put it inside this car i need to think a smaller way to make it :P and i've already some ideas...probably the hardest part is gonna keep everything "clean" i mean, id like to hide all the motors inside the chassis so the cockpit is realistic...this mean that i will have really a small room to fit everything :P Very intresting project. What wheels are you going to use? i scaled the model to the tow truck (9395) wheels...they're the most similar to the real ones :) Quote

piterx Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 Ok, by now i got this... yesterday i was trying to convert my 3+R gearbox in a 5+R but it takes too much space and it's gonna be heavy BUT! tonight i had a smart idea on how to make a 4+R smaller than the 3+R :D so, for now im gonna go to work, and at about 6:30pm ill start planning my new gearbox...i cant wait :D Quote

I almost think they might be a bit on the large size. Wheels on older sports cars used to be relatively small- look at the first photo and then the ghosted front elevation- the 62s loot a bit tall, but close enough. Quote

Lipko Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 It should be okay geometrically, since the CV joints can slide. But since it's going to be RC, there's a pretty good chance that the axles will pop out of the differentials. So yeah, I'd also use 2 CV joints there. Quote
