Nachapon Bricks Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 (edited) No more finger Flicks (touch gestures) feature in Windows 8. The LDD Windows 8 tablet PC solution so far is to use Strokesplus. www.strokesplus.com Edited March 11, 2013 by bbqqq Quote
Calabar Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Maybe the lack of finger Flicks in Win8 is due to the use of "basic" drivers, while in Win7 you used the specific drivers of your touchscreen? Are you ever using the iconia w tablet? I'd like to dip into a device win8 native, and take a look at touch functionalities to see if this lack is typical of all win8 computers. In this case, the software you pointed out seems a very good solution at this problem. Quote
Nachapon Bricks Posted March 12, 2013 Author Posted March 12, 2013 @Calabar, You are right that is an iconia w tablet. The good of Strokesplus is not limited to only 8 flicks. So you can add as many gestures as you want. In the video above you can see custom gestures for 180 degree turn brick in all four directions, and all icon hotkey shortcut. The bad of Strokesplus is that gestures made by mouse right-click then draw. This requires a bit extra time waiting for the press-and-hold to activate the right click. Win7 fast flicks is better. For easy compare, below is windows7 custom Flicks. Quote
Calabar Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Looking at strokeplus webpage, it seems to me that the software is thought for touch gestures and not mouse gestures. Are you sure is there not a better way to perform gestures? Anyway I setted the time needed to simulate a right click as very fast in win8. It is not immediate, but much better than default setting. Nachapon Bricks Posted March 12, 2013 Author Posted March 12, 2013 (edited) Touch keyboard of windows 8 also works well, but smaller view port. On-screen keyboard like on windows 7 didn't work. Bricks goes off screen when turning. Capture by Nachapon S., on Flickr[/b][/s] Edited March 12, 2013 by bbqqq Quote
