I thought I would post this video of our city. I'm sure many of you die hards won't be impressed because there it not a lot of custom sets, but we enjoy it.

Neat city. You really have a lot going on, very busy. I would clean up the streets a bit of some of those vehicles. Looks very cluttered. The buildings are laid out nicely. 4996 Beach House could due with a repositioning, I think. It just seems awkward that their front door is practically inside that car wash/gas station.

awesome city, there is a lot going on but that's the same as any city these days, i like it :D i love the monorail too, old school. You should check out my videos (youtube "Lego city layout February 2013). But yeah i like your city, nice layout :)

Very nice city kc2dc, I love big layouts! It's a fine collection, took me a minute to realize you had two monorails... lucky you! My city was also largely based on actual sets, rather than MOCs.Apart from numerous vehicles, I have very few MOCed buildings. Since everything is in storage, I don't build larger structures. I hope to see future updates with newer sets :classic:

Creativity is as much in combining the sets in a nice layout as in creating your own! :)

Plus, I spy with my little aye a few buildings I don't recognise as official sets... :O

Brick on!

Thanks for the comments! Yes, we do have a few custom sets. We are slowly adding them, although they too were originally sets. The pizza place we have is now a modular, but the parts of it came from a little city set. Others are the police station, airport terminal and tower etc, oh and the highrise under construction of course.

My son designed a really neat modular school on designer, but we have not figured out a way to get the parts without it costing $500, but maybe someday.

Thanks again.

Wow! - what a busy city. As always modulars make for an impressive street, but I was particularly delighted by the building under construction. There were some very interesting details on the construction site and of course the cranes are fantastic.

That doesn't matter; part of my personal enjoyment of LEGO is viewing other people's cityscapes and how they've put them together. Plus I'm very envious of your monorails, so thank you for sharing your city with us. There's a huge amount of activity, and it's nice to see the little details you yourselves have added too.

Absolutely!

but we enjoy it.

And really, that's the only thing that matters, but thank you for letting us enjoy it too. :sweet:

It's a super nice (and pricey!) layout; unique city infrastructure and layout may as well be considered custom. do you have still images of your overall layout floating around on the net somewhere? :classic:

Thanks again to everybody. It's neat that people like it! The only problem now is we are out of room. So we must now get creative if we want to add more buildings.
