LEGO box sizes?

As part of my get organized and build more motto for this year I have decided to chuck the furniture in my studio and have some more functional made.

I want to have a credenza made for display and storage, and since I can make it any size to suit my needs I want to make sure that I can store the largest LEGO boxes.

I have measured the larget boxes I have, a couple of modular buildings and the Haunted House box, they are about 19 x 23 inches. Is this a typical LEGO large box size?

The Modular Building boxes are the largest and most common, but the boxes for the Town Hall, UCS R2D2, and Shuttle Expedition are the tallest, also the box for the Taj Mahal and Tower Bridge are fairly wide too.

I was really just trying to find out if anyone knew of a box larger than 19 x 23. I guess I put too much in my post.

I believe 10188 Death Star has the largest box of all sets with a volume of 59,620.86 cm³; dimensions: 59.6 x 58.5 x 17.1 cm

This may not really pertain directly to the comments above, but I received my order on Saturday and was surprised by the box that arrived. Since the order contained the Pet Shop modular and the City Parking Garage, as well as, a few other smaller sets, I figured it would come in two large boxes like previous orders I've had. But this arrived! I am not sure if I am thrilled about it. It was cumbersome to move and was still only half full. I had this happen once a few years ago, but thought they quit. All other orders came in 1 or 2 large boxes. Has anyone else received a large order with a single huge box? Are they making a return?

I think you may be right. It looks like the Death Star wins for largest size, most modular buildings (and other large boxes) seem to br about 19x23 inches but the Death Star is about 23.5 x 23 inches.

Based on what I have found so far, I have come to a preliminary size for my unit. I want the inside storage dimensions for two enclosed shelved storage areas to be 26x22 inches (66.04x55.88 cm) with a shelf and two 13 inch (33.02 cm) storage areas.

The total size of the custom credenza would be about 72x23 x 32 inches high (183x58 x 81 cm). Now all I have to do is find the cabinet/furniture maker to make this and a new table as a start for my studio. Now off to choose display shelving. I think I want modular shelving with rails that mount to walls so that the shelve arrangement can be reconfigured.
