xxlrocka Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Why doesn't everybody just use their common sense and expel all of the students who do anything suspicious, like lie about investigation results or accuse somebody of being scum without good evidence.
Walter Kovacs Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Why doesn't everybody just use their common sense and expel all of the students who do anything suspicious, like lie about investigation results or accuse somebody of being scum without good evidence. Because there are other valid reasons why an investigation result can come up wrong. The investigator wasn't necessarily lying, so immediately lynching him because he gave an incorrect result only weakens the town, and moves the scum closer to a win. Plus, if the investigator is on the level, the Town has just lynched one of their most powerful tools. Accusations in Mafia rarely have solid evidence backing them up. Most lynches are based on hunches and nitpicking the small details of what a player said... and what a player has not said. Typically the town stars out with a few mis-lynches. But as information comes in, and everyone talks a bit more, the town usually manages to pull together and starts finding the scum. That's what is happening here, it's happening in EB II. You can only hope that it happens before the Town loses too many players and can't recover. But sometimes the Town has a miserable failure. Take a look at Prohibition or Bloodbrick I. The scum won both of those without the town finding any scum. You'll understand when you're in the heat of battle. Things look much different when it's you trying to connect the dots, as opposed to the observers watching from above.
Shadows Posted April 12, 2013 Author Posted April 12, 2013 Reminder: Discussion here is intended to be of a general nature. Speculation about the alignment or motives of active players should be avoided to allow the players the opportunity to participate without outside influence. The lab boys tell me that's called a controlled environment and it's supposed to be a good thing. I don't know about any of that, I just don't want to hear your yammering so cut it out. That is all.
Walter Kovacs Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 I hope that wasn't directed at me. I was trying to keep it general.
Shadows Posted April 12, 2013 Author Posted April 12, 2013 Reminders are of a general nature and meant for everyone. When a reminder is intended for anyone in particular, it becomes a warning. The step past that includes a tasty maple frosting and a failing mark on your permanent record. Followed by death. Know your official notification types!
xxlrocka Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Maple? Tasty? Frosting? Who cares about death when there is Maple Frosting?
