I'm in London, ON and the closest one says it'll open in March-Aprilish so hopefully we won't have to wait for long.

Still debating whether I wanna spend the extra money on this or not; the minifigure itself doesn't highly appeal to me.

Well now, that precludes a blue jacketed Bilbo from appearing in a set, doesn't it. Unless a slightly different more accurate blue coated Bilbo was used in a set. Erebor Bilbo's coat has furry edging and is quite bedraggled. It would be quite odd to make sets from the third movie and not have Bilbo in the right costume.

Thanks to The_Chosen_1 for reporting this (In the Culture & multimedia forum, The Hobbit movie discussion)

You're very welcome! I hope the minifig become available for you guys outside of the states eventually.

I'm going to end up getting this, and later when the other two come out on DVD with extended editions I'll get all three at once. I'm a sucker for exclusive Minifigures.

I'm in. Target exclusives are also so easy to get because their inventory tracking is spot on.

Aah, I was wrong. Yes I admit it. Bilbo has two blue coats. One is in Hobbiton as he's wandering through the market and the second is the one given to him by one of the Dwarves (I can't recall which one off hand). So yes, a blue coated Bilbo in a set is entirely likely. I imagine it will possibly be in a Dale or Erebor set.

The coat colour is inaccurate as the one shown in the Unexpected Journey promo shots was dark blue but that could just be the light. I hope the waistcoat is not orange like it looks there as it in the movie and in the promo shots is a creamy gold and has a pattern on it, a bit like merry's waistcoat colour.Who knows that may be a preliminary and the figure may look entirely different in person! Hope this blu ray version is availiable in the uk at some point i love exclusive figures.Probably would have been better with just the waistcoat though for when gandalf first meets him outside bag end.Still a great figure nonetheless.

They aren't too dissimilar. The minifig's waistcoat may look darker if there's gold print on it. in certain light gold paint looks much darker. The blue of the movie coat is closer to regular Lego blue than it is to dark blue.

In contrast the tatty blue coat from There and Back again looks like this:

I cannot understand why yet another hobbit fig is necessary. Elrond was fine, he was something special, but this is a fig I do not have to get. Still, good for those who care.

He's from scenes that didn't make it into the final cut of the first film. I guess it might pair better with the extended edition release but I don't think it really matters.

Bilbo is probably the most recognizable character from The Hobbit, so it makes perfect sesne.

Ahhh. This makes sense. Didn't occur to me that the DVD had deleted scenes.
