My Modularized Construction Site 7633 and Toys "R" us 7848

Before I will open and build the rest of my modulars, I decided to make the sets 7633 and 7848 modularized to go with my layout of having the GE, FB, PS, TH, and PC all lined up in one row. Since I will build the modulars to use the road plate, I will have a 12 stud gap. Hence, my modularized 7633 and 7848 to have no gaps between the modular row.

First up is a picture beside the town hall:

Roof and all the floors: as you know the construction site has plain insides so mine is plain as well. All I added was stairs.

Unfortunately I had to shorten the truck:

Great idea to fill the gap. The front looks great. Mayby you should have made the building a little deeper, so there was more room for an interior and the back would have fitted better with TH.

^ Thanks

I wanted to make it deeper, unfortunately i have no extra bricks :( I shortened the toysrus truck just to enclose the toysrus ground floor.

Actually thought of demolishing my city house just to lengthen and make toysrus two floors since that had a lot of white walls and bricks, but decided against it.

I see what you mean. I have the same problems. So many ideas and far to less bricks to build it (and no money in my pocket to buy). I wish you all the best on the construction of your town and hope we will see its progress.

^ Thanks, yup way too few bricks and money to build :(

Will update the thread when i get to add a modular in place :)

Ah, cash flow problems like mine.....know how you feel 'melbs'.....it's nice so far, but what is the shop upstairs ? :classic:

Sadly I don't like the shortened trailer at all.

That TRU needs to be bigger, but you have the right idea.....I would say make it wider and the floors above it could pass for doctors rooms or alike.

Yup this hobby is EXPENSIVE, hehehe.

Yup, trailer is too short for the cab :( regarding the construction site building, might leave it as a building being constructed at the moment, until I get to have spare bricks to use as interior pieces.

Yup, tru has to be bigger, hopefully I get to expand it soon.

Neat work here melbs. I can't believe how big the TH is compared. Since you shortened the TRU trailer, maybe you should drop one of it's axels like on a 28ft high cube trailer. Keep up the good work :classic:

Great tip! Will do just that, saved me an axle and wheels to use for my other moc vehicles. Thanks!

I like what you've done, good idea to use those to fill the gap.

If you rebuild the tractor unit into a shorter, forward control, two axle unit then you'd have two spare axles and some more spare parts.
