ShareburG Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 My entry for the current contest over on CC, Purging the Magic Island (LCC): LCC GC3 - The Battle of Scorchridge Pyre by ShareburG, on Flickr Quote
Mahtion Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 (edited) I like all your "purging magic" MOCs, however I find the premise disheartening and it brings me discomfort. Are the magical denizens being persecuted or simply retaliated against crimes they themselves committed? I know the wizards make use of orcs and goblins but what of their nature and ambitions? EDIT: Apparently I've conflated entries into the LLC contest theme as being part of the same set by the same creator. Still I wonder where the idea came from and its inspiration by the contest judges. Edited February 17, 2013 by Mahtion Quote

Still I wonder where the idea came from and its inspiration by the contest judges. Well, it's all part of the LCC lore (check it out on CC if you care to), which happens in a society where magic is very feared and shunned. As for what it's actually used for, and if the persecution is righteous or not, that's (apart from the background lore and leader-hosted contests like this one) completely up to the members of the Outlaw faction, which also includes magical creatures and wizards. The whole idea is, as said, a part of the longer story of Roawia (the world of the LCC) and past events and wars that have caused the populace to distrust any kind of magic. I've personally chosen to play the LCC as quite the enemy of supernatural things, but I really like that you take your time to evaluate the different sides of the war. Quote
Esurient Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Very nice battle scene! Great job on the landscaping as well. Quote
