jmagaletta Posted February 26, 2013 Author Posted February 26, 2013 Does anyone think we will see a set depicting the Last Alliance? Quote
Blakstone Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I doubt we will since they already released one of the minifigs from that scene as a promo. Still if the line outlasts their initial plans it is possible. Quote
jmagaletta Posted February 26, 2013 Author Posted February 26, 2013 Does that mean we will not see a Sauron from LOTR? Not talking about the Necromancer as I am sure PJ will make him look different than in FOTR. Quote

Not talking about the Necromancer as I am sure PJ will make him look different than in FOTR. While I can give reasons why I believe this to be true, none of us really know for sure. If LEGO decides to expand the line past the first planned sets, I can see TLG doing Sauron. I believe Sauron and the Necromancer would have to look different as Gandalf cames to believe that they are the same but is uncertain. Quote
jmagaletta Posted February 26, 2013 Author Posted February 26, 2013 Or pssibly and maybe even more likely. An exclusive fig similar to Elrond. He is brick bult in the game right? Quote
Deathleech Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Or pssibly and maybe even more likely. An exclusive fig similar to Elrond. He is brick bult in the game right? Some think we might get a Sauron minifig with a Lego book or some other promo. Sauron is the main evil in LotR so I find it hard to believe they won't make him at all, though he is never actually shown in the films except in the flashbacks so for that reason alone it might be hard to put him in a set. Quote
Flieger Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 What's more:The whole point of Sauron in the LotR-books/films is to have an non-corporal evil. Fortunately Jackson had enough brains to understand that and cut Sauron from the Battle at the Black Gate. Besides, I never liked Jackson's idea of Sauron's armour. Sure I know I am in a minority with this opinion, but rejoice: there are evil captains we have not seen yet, the Witch-King, Gothmog, Grima and the Southron-commander (although totally different from the Black Serpent in the book). I think can all agree at least on the Witch-King's importance. Quote
Str0ngbad Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I think he could be a promo figure except I don't know if they make exclusive molds for promos. I would scream bloody murder if he were a ComicCon figure. As mentioned above the release of 2nd Age Elrond makes a set seem less likely but I suppose there are still enough characters that they might do it even without him if the line lasts longer than I expect. If it had last alliance elven soldiers I would drive myself into debt... Quote

Those are some essential figures but the sets would be even better, the figures being a bonus ;) Quote
jmagaletta Posted February 27, 2013 Author Posted February 27, 2013 Is there a single thread where all the LOTR and TH reviews can be found? Quote
Masked Builder Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Is there a single thread where all the LOTR and TH reviews can be found? It would be the review index, but it hasn't been updated in some time. Quote
jmagaletta Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 Has there been any speculatuon if the winter wave will be all The Hobbit or will there be some LOTR? Quote
Str0ngbad Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Not really as I think it's understood that it will just be Hobbit sets. Quote
Blakstone Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 I am going to the LEGO Store tomorrow but I cannot decide on whether to get a second copy of warg attack or mirkwood spiders. More red tree leaves versus wargs. It would be an easy decision if both wargs were gray. How reusable do you find the dwarf printing in each set? What would you choose? Quote

I would go Mirkwood Spiders in a heartbeat; primarily for the elves, but I honestly liked the build and pieces a lot more too. I haven't repurposed any of the dwarf stuff yet so I'm no help there. The_Chosen_1 Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 I would personally go with another Warg Attack. You get Wargs, orcs, and tons of great tree elements! Quote
jmagaletta Posted March 29, 2013 Author Posted March 29, 2013 Don't have either but I would say warg attack. You can jumble up the orcs and make them different. Quote
Flieger Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 As far as the minifigs go, I feel that the Mirkwood spiders offer more for the money. Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 It is a hard choice. On a personal note I would go with the warg attack simply because I love making battle scenes and wargs and orcs make for good battle scenes. Sure elves do to, but in he bigger pictures how many elves / dwarves / men are there in battles in Middle-Earth compared to orcs and orcs sometimes come mounted on wargs and even when not normally accompanied by packs of wargs. So if you want a hope of a realistic battle (Without battle packs.) then there is no contest. If on the other hand you like making foresty elven constructs and scenes, well then you need the Mirkwood set. Nothing wrong with that and I'd enjoy that to but; need more orcs!! Quote
wesker Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 What does everyone think of Tauriel's minifigure now that an official still of her character has been released? I think she might have looked better without the brown corset since it makes her figure look a bit too dark in colour. I'm glad they went with the regular Elf hair though. It looks much more accurate than Arwen's would have. Quote

And her hair will look much more like lego Arwen's at various spots. Edited June 8, 2013 by deskp Quote
The Legonater Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 The corset was always what made the fig look weird to me, and considering the still shows her without it, I hope any future Tauriel sets have an updated torso. Quote

Oh i think the corset looks fantastic, its her shared legs with Legolas' groin thats weird. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 True, the shared legs are kind of weird to us, but LEGO was smart to re-use a piece. I can't wait to see the movie. Evangeline Lilly I think the brown corset looks okay. You can see a brown top in the second picture up top. But hopefully we will get other versions of her. Quote
Fives Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 I really do hope they recolour Arwen's hairpiece and give it to Tauriel. It would look way better. It's just streets ahead of the other piece. When all of LEGO LOTR and the Hobbit is done, do you guys think that they could possibly release a video game that covers all of The Hobbit and LOTR, much like the SW: Complete Saga game? I think it would be really cool. Quote
