I´m Ro_wenna and returned from my dark ages a few years before because my two kids were born and I frequently went to some toy stores. Now my boy is six years old and my girl is four and we go together to Legostores, Lego Parks and so on....

My favorites are Star Wars (been an huge Star Wars fan from the beginnings, even bought some Star Wars Lego during my Dark Ages), Classic Castle, Harry Potter and LOTR/Hobbit but also the grown up stuff like Modular Buildings. After I went to my very first AFOL Shopping on Feb 2, I now considering myself being a true AFOL!

Hehe Ro_wenna sounds like you are now an official AFOL. My gf and I went to our first early morning AFOL morning about two weeks ago in Liverpool LEGO store too so I guess we are now official AFOLs as well.

The themes you like are cool. I love the Harry Potter series. I prefer the newer sets than the original ones but they are all cool. Diagon Alley has so far been one of my favourite builds.

LOTR was an ok build but sadly I felt it got very repetitive whilst building with most of the bricks being grey.

I got into Modulars at Christmas. I wish I had of found them much earlier though as they are definitely my favourite series along with the Winter series. I just wish I had of come out of my dark ages back when the Cafe Corner was still on sale at a reasonable price.

Hi Indigobox,

I´ve started collecting Harry Potter when I found an used lot on ebay a few years ago. So I was sorting and building all the older sets first and I must commit that some of the newer ones are still in their boxes...! But I´m really looking forward building Diagon Alley as soon as my "lego room" is established (I´m working on it right now). The last sets I have build are the Hobbit ones (An unexpected gathering/Attack of the wargs/Escape from Mirkwood Spiders) and I loved it. There are so many details and those wargs are stunning. Have you seen the film? How do you liked it?

But I understand what you mean when you are speaking of all those grey bricks....

Right now we are building some of the Star Wars sets (Home One Mon Calamari Star Cruiser / Jabbas Palace) and some Friends Stuff for my little girl.

The Winter series are simply beautyfull. My husband builds them each year with our kids and it has become a "tradition" in our family. Have you heard about the christmas market wich is roumored to be the christmas set this year? I´m absolutly looking forward for that one, because going to christmas markets is one of our favourites here in Germany! Do you got something like that around Liverpool? I´ve heard about christmas markets in London, but the last time I was in London at christmas time was years ago...

We started building Modulars with the Fire Brigade and I wished we bought the Green Grocer when it was still available...they are so amazing! A year ago we almost got all those early Modulars on ebay - but we quit biding at around 700 € ( thats the price for one CC right now).

Are you also a member of "brickset"? I´m managing my growing collection via brickset and it´s great (Lego must be some kind of virus, it´s allways growing?).

I hope you enjoyed your AFOL morning as well as we were enjoying our first AFOL evening (the whole family had fun). My husband works in Hamburg (also a Beatles City) and we will be visiting the Lego Store soon.......

Have fun and many greetings from Germany

Elke / Ro_wenna
