Ramacco Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Hi, I'm currently building a new robot and it has the same trackdesign and connectionpoint as the Shooterbot from the NXT 2.0, but I'm not capable of connecting those 2 parts together. Also, I can't find the 1x4 gear rack. Can anyone tell me where I can find this one? I have uploaded the LDD file I'm working on. See link below. Thanks in advance. Tracks.lxf Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) You can find the part: 3743 by searching for it in the search box, it comes under 'toothed bar'. I don't think there is a way too connect the tread to the two rims on LDD,but maybe someone else knows more about this? If it is important I can rebuild the robot on MLcad and add tracks that way too your robot. Edited February 10, 2013 by Alasdair Ryan Quote
DLuders Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 @ Ramacco: I see (from your LDD .lxf file) that the Lego Technic Tread ("track") that you selected is labeled Part "71372" (which is not in Brlcklink for some reason). This is different from the x1681 "Tread Large, Non-Technic (36 tread 'links')" that is on the 8547 Lego Mindstorms NXT 2.0 Parts List Inventory on Bricklink (pictured below). I believe that the LDD Part "71372" is supposed to represent the Bricklink 680c01 "Tread Large, Technic (34 tread 'links')" (pictured below), which fits on the 32007 "Technic Tread Hub" (which IS in the LDD Parts Palette): Quote
Ramacco Posted February 10, 2013 Author Posted February 10, 2013 @ Alasdair Ryan: Thanks, I found that part now! I'm using a Mac, but MLCad doesn't run on MacOS. Bricksmith is an alternative I think? Is LPub running on Mac then? @DLuders: Thank you, any idea if the tracks from the shooterbot are available in LDD? Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) Yes you can download a mac version of Lpub here. You can download Bricksmith here(Mac version of Ldraw). Have you tried using one of the conversion programs that may make you run dedicated windows programs? @DLuders: Thank you, any idea if the tracks from the shooterbot are available in LDD? Sadly not, hopefully they might get added to the next part update of LDD. Edited February 10, 2013 by Alasdair Ryan Quote
DLuders Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) @ Ramacco: I'm afraid that the LDD Parts Palette does not have the 36-tread-link, "Non-Technic" rubber tread/track. I did a "Search" in LDD for the term "Track", and it only has the 680c01 TECHNIC one referenced in my post above -- it's LDD Part Number 53992. For future reference, you can find whether a Bricklink Part Number exists in LDD by doing the LDD Search (in the white box at the top-left corner of the LDD screen, above the Parts Palette). DLuders Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 @ Ramacco: I think there may be an error in how Bricklink catalogs its rubber treads. In LDD, Part 71372 is not the same shape as the LDD Part 53992. So, try 53992 in your LDD model and see if it fits those wheels. Quote
Ramacco Posted February 10, 2013 Author Posted February 10, 2013 Funny how it goes, but I can't find an item with that number. I'll switch to Bricksmith, since I'm having more problems than the tracks.. Thanks for your help! Quote
