Erikur Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Hail to thee, now for my second moc... The springs of Mt.Mitgard known for their healing properties. Water from these springs can help cure even the most persistent diseases and the most grievous wounds. It also makes for a potent addition to the healing potions made by the sorcerors of the Wyrm Clan. A shrine to the God of fire (Do we have a name for the fire god already? Otherwise i suggest Leukan, an early name for Loki god of fire and trickery). Quote
soccerkid6 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Glad you tried some landscaping, overall it looks very good I would suggest a few smaller plates in the section between the tree trunk and little building. The trees are excellent Quote
Erikur Posted February 10, 2013 Author Posted February 10, 2013 Thanks ^^ unfortunately I ran out of green and brown plates... need to get more sets that has lots of bricks in natural colors Quote
Kayne Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Nice MOC! I agree with SC, a little bit more plates just to break up some of the flat earth and add some elevation would add a bit of depth to it, but overall it's really nice Quote
kabel Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 First of all, great Idea. Nice trees a really cool spot to have a hot bath. Some suggestions: - Your water needs some more action! Either you snot your water or you use transparent white plates to create the illusion of moving water. Both techniques have their pros and cons. Thanks ^^ unfortunately I ran out of green and brown plates... need to get more sets that has lots of bricks in natural colors - I don't think that this is the problem. I think you should overlap you plates thus creating several height levels: grey close to the water (gravel, rock), one up a small band of brown (mud), one further up green (meadow) and you should add smaller vegetation such as flower stems, bushes and swamp plants etc. Quote
PenPlays Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I get this very classic vibe from this MOC. It's very nice. Good MOC. Quote
SkaForHire Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Good work. I agree with the plates discussion already posted. I like the trees and the flowers are a nice touch! I like the story,GEAR Co. would love to get a few kegs of that water! On another note, is that a table-top gaming mat underneath? hehe Quote
Sigolf Brimabane Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 On another note, is that a table-top gaming mat underneath? hehe That is indeed a table-top gaming mat :3 Quote
Erikur Posted February 11, 2013 Author Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) Thanks :) Well I guess I could use some more dark gray at the edge and then heighten the brown and green layers... @ kabel Blue snots or transparent white would indeed look good, we just might have enough blue snots to make it work. Actually used our last flower stem on the build xD. Will see what can be done with the vegetation. @Ska for hire The Wyrm Clan would surely want to establish trade with the esteemed GEAR.CO. Maxim I Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 I like how you did the photography! Some pictures really surprised me and made me look back to the first picture I will send Embassador Nohr Mahn to the healing springs & the Wyrm Clan to discuss future traderelations with Mpya Stedor as well Quote
Mike S Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 I really like how this turned out! I think you did a great job with the limited pieces you used. Quote
Erikur Posted February 11, 2013 Author Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) So I looted some other builds for bricks, mainly flower stems and blue tiles, and did some changes to the MOC... Here's the result. Edited February 11, 2013 by Erikur Quote
soccerkid6 Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Looks much better Though when kabel said SNOT I think he meant sideways bricks not tiles, either way it works well Quote
Erikur Posted February 11, 2013 Author Posted February 11, 2013 So that what the term means XD Either way if I wanted to use sideways bricks I would probably have to rebuild from scratch as i would have needed an extra layer at the bottom. Quote
kabel Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Hey, this is looking much better! Great to see that you took in my considerations! As for the flower stems, I wouldn't put them evenly all over the place but more in 2 or 3 larger groups, especially around the bottom of the trees! And yes, with snot I meant sideways, but that's something for your next moc! Quote
Captain Settle Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Looks much better now. Love the foliage near the house structure. Quote
