Sebeus I Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 (edited) My latest toy, I was loosely inspired by Thunderbirds while building this, anyone familiar with the series will remember the pod vehicles . The crew. I hope you like it, more pictures are in my brickshelf gallery (once public). I might be making more vehicles in this style, this one being "Vehicle 4" makes room for a 1, 2, 3 and 5. Nothing similar to the real Thunderbirds though, those are too big for my collection to handle . Edited February 6, 2013 by Sebeus I Quote
LukeClarenceVan Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Fantastic work, brilliant use of the rubber band holder pieces. Quote
Wedge09 Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Great work and nice color scheme  Quote
genecyst Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 nice angles and clean lines. very nice work. Quote
DraikNova Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Interesting concept. Funny part choice for the missile "holders". Quote
Si-MOCs Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Normally I would say 2-3 pictures max are required for builds of this scale... But WOW. I couldn't help but stop, and scroll back and take in all those details. I'm incredibly impressed at how much you packed in such a small space. Brilliant MOC! Quote
Ryclen Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Now that thing has character! Really cool build! Quote
Sebeus I Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 (edited) Thanks for the nice comments, I'm trying to figure out the best way to motorize this vehicle, I thought I had the perfect plan but then I realized I forgot to implement the (huge) batterybox in my plan . Praiter Yed Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Wow - great use of yellow - gives it a kind of sturdy, construction vehicle feel although this is quite the opposite of a construction vehicle . There's just so many great details and excellent part usage throughout. It really does look like something that could have appeared out of Thunderbird 2's pods and the fact that it's chunky wheels steer at both the front and back adds to the 'Supermarionation' style. BTW apparently 'Thunderbirds Are Go!' is go. Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 You captured the look and feel of the Thunderbirds perfectly! Quote
Gory51 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Thunderbirds are go!.....ah childhood memories, and agreed, this vehicle definitely captures that look. ( Not so sure about the minifigs though?) I would say the minifigs make this look more like some post apocalyptic are type vehicle. ( just my thoughts though ;) ) Quote
brickboy12 Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 FAB! Great memories. Now to the vehicle I love how much detail you have put in without it going ott. I don't really like the minifigs just my opinion. Could you make a thunderbirds series. It would be great if it got a forum of its own. Quote

It would be great if it got a forum of its own. I'm working on more vehicles but I can't really call it a thunderbird series as I'm not able to build those large crafts like thunderbirds 1, 2 and 3, furthermore I don't want to replicate excisting designs anymore, my vehicles will be no more than "Thunderbirds inspired". About the forum, I actually wasn't sure where to post this as it might as well fit in the action forum . Quote
