legotechnicblue Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Does anybody have instructions and a parts list of how I would fully motorize the 8110 Unimog U400 using crowkillers 4wd with reverse transmission/ gearbox? Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 (edited) No,I am afraid not. Edited February 1, 2013 by Alasdair Ryan Quote
DLuders Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 @ legotechnicblue: Do you mean the AWD 4+R Transmission (not "4WD") that is available for purchase at the bottom of this webpage? It's pictured above. There doesn't seem to be any room in the 8110 Unimog U400 set for that transmission (chassis renders from Blakbird's Brickshelf Gallery): Quote
legotechnicblue Posted February 2, 2013 Author Posted February 2, 2013 Yes that's what I mean and you don't think that there is a possibility of putting it on top of the frame and having pto shafts running down from it? And do you have instructions or a parts list of how to motorize my unimog? Quote

I don't think looking at it,that it would even fit into it any way. Edited February 2, 2013 by Alasdair Ryan Quote
legotechnicblue Posted February 2, 2013 Author Posted February 2, 2013 No I mean do any of you have any of instructions on how to motorize the unimog? And I think I am going to try to make it fit once I purchase it. Or do you know what parts I would need to motorize it. Quote
dr_spock Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 (edited) Search on YouTube. There are some videos of how some motorized their unimog. Edited February 2, 2013 by dr_spock Quote
legotechnicblue Posted February 2, 2013 Author Posted February 2, 2013 I will just relocate the battery box and put the gearbox In its place. Hi I used this as a less than elegant solution to the 'leaning left' problem. As I said, it's not elegant but it does the job. Grum Quote
Pat-Ard Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 @legotechnicblue: take a close look to this thread: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=57543 On the last two pages there are again the links to the Youtube vid and my attempt to use the servo-motor from the crawler for steering. Feel free to ask via pm, if you have any further questions Pat Quote
legotechnicblue Posted February 2, 2013 Author Posted February 2, 2013 I found that the other gearbox he sells will fit in perfectly. Now I just have to purchase it. Quote
legotechnicblue Posted February 14, 2013 Author Posted February 14, 2013 Anybody who has a lego cuusoo account should vote for crowkillers Land Rover Defender 110 to make as a lego set because it is awesome. http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/16894 Quote

Also, you should probably post this in the Defender 110 thread instead of the Unimog thread. I agree that it is a worthy project though! Quote
davidmull Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 I made my 8110 fully rc,it worked well but not enough power from 1 XL motor, the mog is too heavy, iv put it all back standard now, A u400 cab would be nice on 9398 crawler though :) Quote
