501st Commando Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 This MOC is supposed to be a Sci-fi hotel in a luxurious city. I've been wanting to use the technique that gives the building it's curve for a while now, but didn't have any idea what to use it for, until now. It uses 1x4 hinge plates and 1x2 bricks with studs on the sides to achieve this effect. I may post a breakdown shot latter. Quote
Si-MOCs Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 That's a really cool shape.. .... I want to know how it's done! Great trees too, it just adds enough to give this some cool scale... Quote
Brickington Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Really simple and majestic. I would also love to know how you did it. Quote

501st Commando Posted January 29, 2013 Author Posted January 29, 2013 Thanks for the great comments everyone! I'll post a break down shot sometime during this week. Quote
Rook Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 I'm getting motion sickness looking at it! Quote
501st Commando Posted January 31, 2013 Author Posted January 31, 2013 I'm getting motion sickness looking at it! Hopefully the breakdown shot will help with that. Here's the breakdown shot I promised. I found that when using 1x4 hinge plates stacked on each other that they can curve fairly well without snapping apart. They do need supports to keep them in place, such as normal 1x2 hinge bricks. Quote
