Farnheim Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Hi all, Time for a change. I finished another fire apparatus a while back that replaces another old truck from 2009. The new one is inspired by a truck that is now on duty at the Frankfurt/Main Fire Department. Farnheim also has a huge international sea port and some numerous inshore waters, which make an apparatus like this necessary. I guess the functions of this rescue truck are clear... For a little comparison. Here are some small photos how the old version looked like: Hope you like it. Can't wait for your critics and comments. Bricking Greetings, Farnheim Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Great rescue vehicle 'Farnheim'.....excellent crane design too ! What's next in your fire/rescue series ? Brick On 'Farnheim' ! Quote
theDeanoRama Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 wow you packed a lot of nice detail into a 4W, the crane and associated stabilizers are a great touch Quote
-zenn Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 (edited) wow you packed a lot of nice detail into a 4W, the crane and associated stabilizers are a great touch Agreed those stabilizers are neat, though I can't help it to say I don't digg that middle cabinet; that it's hinged on the top side while those other cabinet are hinged on the down side. Maybe only cosmetic, but I would switch it so that they all hinge at the same level. Maybe some other styled tires as well. Edited January 24, 2013 by -zenn Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Excellent 4W trucks Farnheim! That first truck has a very clever lift arm. You fit a lot of detail on such a small body. Keep up the great work Quote
Legotom Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 This is a great truck. Gives me some inspiration for a similar one in 6 wide to go with the more modern fire stuff. And that crane is a work of art. Could you post some more detailed pictures, or better yet a step by step guide? Quote
Missing Brick Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Great truck and beautiful pics. Reminiscent of http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=6650-1 which I remember fondly from my youth. Quote
Artifex Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Wow, awesome vehicle you got there! I love it! The truck, the boat, the crane... They are all great! Quote
greg3 Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 That is so cool!! Even though it's a classic 4 wide style vehicle you've managed to add so much detail (especially in the crane) Excellent work! Quote
Farnheim Posted January 28, 2013 Author Posted January 28, 2013 Thank you all a lot for the great response. I really appreciate it. @ lightningtiger: The next one will be a truck with a huge fan. Stay tuned. @ -zenn: This style of tires is the style I use on all of my fire fighting vehicles. I love those old tires for a little more retro touch. Well, the doors normally open to the top (like the middle cabinet). But those small "cupboards" don't. Well, I didn't mind until now... I'll give it try. @ Legotom: I just have to take some more photos of the crane. In the meanwhile, that could help a bit: Quote
The Dutch Guy Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Now, that is a very lovely truck. Great effort there Farnheim. I like it a lot. Quote
scottwb2010 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 This is a very nice Fire Rescue Truck. I like the way you manage to detail them in 4 wide. The crane is a neat piece of work and I like the tyres you use. They go with the 4 wide retro style. Keep up the good work. Quote
