nicjasno Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 No wonder it was only sold for 2 years. Is it that bad? Quote
jantjeuh Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Have to add a vote for 8041. I never apply stickers, so it's really ugly.. and there is no interesting Technic functionality, at all. A 'working' engine and HOG steering. Yay. Quote
Paul B Technic Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 My vote goes to 8297, take away the power functions and you don't really have much left :( Quote

Paul B Technic Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 http://www.eurobrick...50#entry1766990 Well, that's quite a drastic swing in opinion ;-) Yes, simply because having now had it for a longer period of time the short comings of it are now clearer to me. I was basing this just on the sets I own. Quote

RobNL Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 All Slizer Sets So true I'm also not fond of the Star Wars sets, they just don't look right. Luckely Brickset doesn't list them as Technic either so i don't have to buy them Quote
N-4K0 Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 I liked City Slizer, but I grew bored of the rest Quote
BrickbyBrickTechnic Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 8053 is great, but the b-model sucks. Quote
Saberwing40k Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 42070 42070 42070 I'd post a rant on how bad this set is, but I'm limited to my phone's dinky keyboard. 8041 is also a nice stinker, it's hardly even Technic. 42037 gets a nomination to, because of the lack of authenticity. Also, I'm actually going to defend the Power Puller, as it is very authentic, and actually had a weight sled of sorts, and you could add electric motors to get more power. The instructions actually even talked about things you could do, like change the gears to pull the sled farther. Also, at the time, Lego was sponsoring a real Puller, and the Lego set is more or less a replica. Quote
DarkShadow73 Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Somehow I figured there would be at least 1 or 2 members commenting in this old topic... 42070 if not just for the brutal price...although of all the larger/flagship sets in the past several years this really doesn't stand up well against so many other good ones. Still stand by 8041 as dismal, and since I posted on this topic in 2013, a re-release (42041) of the same??? What was TLG thinking? So many other excellent, popular sets they could have re-released and they chose the Race Truck? Why?? They used to re-release many good sets, sometimes 1 or 2 times, and within a couple years of each other. 2 come to mind, 8459/8464/8439 in that order, and even though its chunky looking, 8460/8431/8438, its still a great crane. Have to say I rather like 8053A and B, the tower crane is just kind of bad a-- looking IMO. Especially if you do some mods to it as I did years ago when it was released. Quote
