Teessider Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Hi I've recently got back into Lego and I want to try making some Technic MOCS. I've seen some great theme park ride MOCS and I'm quite like to try doing this sort of thing myself. Are there any good tutorials for learning about this sort of thing. I'm thinking that building a Magic Carpet style ride might be a good place to start for a beginner like me. - video of a Magic Carpet rideAlso, is it possible to simulate the movement and power functions of Technic MOCS in Lego Digital Designer? Cheers Teessider Quote
DLuders Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 ...is it possible to simulate the movement and power functions of Technic MOCS in Lego Digital Designer? You may want to use xSergio74's SR 3D Builder software to simulate movement. He has some tutorials and many videos of it to show how good it is to model something like the "Magic Carpet" ride. Lego Digital Designer (LDD) cannot simulate movement at all. Quote
Carsten Svendsen Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 You can easily build a magic carpet, but you won't be able to animate it in SR 3D Builder since the rotation points moves.Other than that, it's an awesome program for any creation, much better than LDD once you get the hang of it. DLuders Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Virtual Technic Models uses software to create MOVEMENT -- see this of what is possible (link to more Virtual Technic Models videos): Quote
Teessider Posted January 23, 2013 Author Posted January 23, 2013 Thanks for the replies. I'm gonna try the SR 3D Builder. I'm going to practice by building the Grand Carousel and Ferris Wheel before trying to build something of my own. Quote
